Fun Games, Events and Hobbies We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child

Hiking in the woods is one of our favorite past times that we look forward to sharing with a child. Rich is a BIG baseball fan and cannot wait to share that hobby with a little one. In addition, we are both overgrown kids who love to crawl around on the floor and play - we can't wait to have a little one make pillow forts with and play hide and seek.

Ornella's children are very excited about welcoming a little person into our family. They talk about it all the time - they can't wait to play with him/her. The boys (Lorenzo and Massimo) love to play soccer and are looking forward to showing him/her how to play. Lauren loves to shop and can't wait to share her "hobby" with him/her. Although the kids don't live with us, they visit often. We make a point to either see them on a weekly basis and/or have lunch/dinner with them at least twice a month. We "text" each other at least twice a day!

We (Rich, Ornella, Lauren, Lorenzo and Massimo) enjoy picking and carving pumpkins at Halloween - then display them on our front porch on Halloween night. Also, in early December we pile in our truck and drive to a nearby Christmas tree farm and look for hours for the perfect trees! Of course, while we are looking we also enjoy throwing snow balls at each other. Once we have chosen our perfect trees, we pile them on the truck and go home to trim them.

Education

We believe that education is the key to everything. We believe that education not only encompasses learning at school, but learning in all aspects of life. We will make education part of every day (in the form of hikes to learn about nature, trips to science centers to learn about why things work, to religious education to understand the basis of our beliefs). The thing we will try to do is to make this learning fun..not always possible, but we will try. In addition, some of the most valuable lessons a child can learn, they must learn on their own - we will certainly give them the opportunity to explore whatever they want in extracurricular activities, such as baseball, dancing, soccer, painting, music lessons, whatever their interests.…or nothing at all if down time is what they need.

We have already started an educational fund for the child so that they can attend a college of their choice. We both believe that a college education is important and essential.

Why Our Pet Is Important To Us and Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Our Dog Max

Our dog, Max, a 3 year old Chocolate Lab, is a big part of our life. We enjoy going on drives with him, playing fetch and taking him swimming. As with many pets - for us, he is a wonderfully supportive member of our family - who else would be so excited to see you come home every day? He is our boy…. and he is anxious to share his joyous love of life with another family member.

The Outer banks is our favorite vacation spot. We have been traveling there for the last seven years and have enjoyed every vacation - even the vacations when we had to leave the area because of the hurricanes! We still keep going back.

The last several years, we have taken our dog, Max. He enjoys it more than we do! We have several favorite places we make sure to stop every time and enjoy the food! We love walking on the beach, reading on the deck, and enjoying each other's company.

We are hoping the next time we visit the Outer banks that we will have a child to share in the fun - walks on the beach, bike riding, getting ice cream, and playing in the water.
