Discussing Adoption with Our Children
Although Ryan and Hailey are still very young, we have talked openly with them about having another baby brother or sister. We would like for Ryan and Hailey to grow up with your child while they are little, so they will be close when they get older. Recently Ryan and Hailey met their new cousin when she was 2 weeks old. They were so thrilled with the baby and tried to help their aunt take care of her. We can't help but dream of their smiling faces when they meet your child.
We have told Ryan and Hailey that Mommy and Daddy really want another baby, but Mommy can no longer grow a baby in her tummy. So a very special Mommy is growing a baby in her tummy for us. We also plan to share this story with your child. When the children get older, we will tell them how you answered our prayers and wanted to provide your child with a wonderful life. Your child will always feel loved and wanted in our home. We look forward to sharing photos and letters with you for as long as you desire.
Things We Look Forward to Sharing
We enjoy camping and spending time outdoors. A couple of things we like to do are taking nature walks and bike riding. Eric is also an avid fisherman and looks forward to teaching the children how to fish. He also enjoys model trains and is planning to build a train layout in our basement for the children.
Lora Lee enjoys painting, mosaics, and crafts. Each year she makes Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree. She also enjoys baking cookies and gardening. Lora Lee looks forward to doing these things with your child too.
We also read books to Hailey and Ryan and believe in providing as many learning experiences as possible. During the summer months, Ryan and Hailey's daycare offers parent supervised fieldtrips to the zoo, museum, science center, bird sanctuary, area parks, farms, etc. The daycare also offers gymnastics, dance, and computer courses for children during the remaining months of the year. Ryan participated in the gymnastics class last year and just started again this year. He was also old enough this year to enroll in the computer course. Hailey will enroll in the dance and computer courses next year.
Ryan and Hailey go to daycare 3-4 days per week, depending on Lora Lee's work schedule. Lora Lee is fortunate to work from home and has a flexible schedule.
Why Our Pets Are Important To Us
Molly & Mitzi, Our Italian Greyhounds Cuddled in a Chair
We presently have 2 Italian Greyhounds, 2 cats, a pair of cockatiels, and a 55 gallon aquarium with butterfly koi goldfish. Pets have always been an important part of our lives. We believe that that having pets teaches our family love, compassion, and responsibility.
As children, we both grew up with a variety of pets. Eric had 2 dogs, several rabbits, gerbils, as well as a flock of homing pigeons. He remembers most the times his family went on camping trips with their dogs. They always kept his family entertained with their creative antics to get treats. Lora Lee also had several dogs, cats, ducks, hamsters, tropical fish, parakeets, and a turtle. She used to take nature hikes with her dogs and cats in the forests surrounding her home.
