What We’ll Tell Your Child About His/Her Adoption
After reading adoption literature, speaking to friends who have been adopted and talking to other adoptive parents, we plan on telling our child from a very young age that they came into our family through the love of adoption. We will buy
children's books about adoption that are child-friendly. We will answer any questions and give a detailed explanation about our journey to them and how they came to be part of our family. We have already bought a scrapbook to help visualize and make this journey clear to them.
We will provide them with the resources, love and support they need as they begin to understand the adoption decision and journey. We want them to understand that your decision to put them up for adoption was unselfish and honorable. We want them to know that your decision provided them with the blessing and gift of life filled with many opportunities. We are graciously thankful to you for your generosity. In addition, we are grateful to God for guiding you to this brave, noble
decision and for the wonderful blessing of a child. We are humbled to have the opportunity to live out our dream and heart's desire…to be parents. We promise to provide your child with unconditional love and never to forget the gift of your decision.
Our Leisure Time
Together we enjoy vacations to the beach and mountains. When we visit the mountains, we love to take hikes and view the leaves changing colors. We visit state parks and like to breathe in the fresh mountain air. When we venture to the beach, we enjoy sunny days at the beach, flying kites, water sports and just spending quality time together. Back at home we spend some weekends heading to the park with our dog Bailey. We enjoy being outdoors and riding bikes. We spend quite a bit of time with other families from our church. This may include dinner, bowling, or playing games. We are blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive group of friends.
Krissy's hobbies include scrap booking, gardening and reading books. Dave enjoys working in the yard, detailing cars, building things and has a true love for college sports. He loves following his alma mater during college football and basketball seasons.
Our Pet Is Important to Us
Our Nephew Noah with Bailey
We have one dog, a German Shepherd, named Bailey. She is five years old and is part of our family. We got Bailey when she was only 7 weeks old. Since we did not have any children at the time, we spent a lot of time training her and showing her love. Bailey has shown nothing but love in return. She is small for a German Shepherd and very gentle. She loves to play with our nephew, Noah. Noah is a very active four-year old who takes Bailey for walks around the house/yard, climbs on top of her, plays fetch with her and gives her big hugs. Bailey is very affectionate and enjoys the attention. She is patient, loyal and protective. Bailey likes to keep an eye on our nephew to make sure he is safe.
We know that Bailey will provide your child with companionship, protection, loyalty and friendship.
