We both believe that parenting is the most important job in the world. As a result, if we are blessed with children, Michelle will gladly become a full-time stay-at-home mom and Kevin is able to work from home, which will allow both of us to spend a lot of time with a child. We will provide every opportunity possible to enrich and educate your child. We are committed to providing a stable, secure and supportive home, which will be built upon our unconditional love.

What We’ll Tell Your Child About His/Her Adoption

We want your child to know that they are loved twice as much because their birth parents love them and so do we. Although not born from us, we want them to know they were born from our hearts and that we could hardly wait for them to arrive! We will continue to tell them that their birth parents love them so much that they made an unselfish decision to provide a better life for them. We want them to know that God chose us for each other and that we were all made a family in a special way.

We will tell your child about their adoption at a young age. For example, we will read children's books to your child that include the topic of adoption in a positive way for all involved. We will provide unconditional love and reassurance for your child and always make them feel welcome to ask questions about their adoption. We will celebrate their own individuality and support them in feeling comfortable with their adoption. At age-appropriate stages, we will tell them their story beginning with how excited we felt the day we learned of them and the special gift their birth parents gave us.

What We Do for Fun

Between the two of us, we never have a dull moment. We have a number of hobbies and activities we enjoy. On any given weekend, you can find us out hiking, swimming or biking or playing sports such as Frisbee golf, football, basketball, softball, or golf. We also enjoy going out on some of the nearby lakes and rivers where Kevin fishes and Michelle soaks in some sun.

Both of us love to cook and host parties. One of the first things we bought when we moved into our house was a large outdoor grill so we could host cookouts. Kevin's bar-b-que ribs are now famous among our friends and family.

We also enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Soon after we were married we took a trip to Germany and Italy. We had a great time trying new food and seeing the sites, and a particular highlight was meeting the Pope in St. Peter's Square. Closer to home, we live in a historical and cultural area, which we try to take advantage of as frequently as possible by going on some of the local guided tours, to the local festivals and museums and plays.

In the summertime, you can find us at the beach as often as possible, building sand castles and riding waves. And, in winter, as soon as it snows, we're outdoors sledding and having snowball fights followed by evenings sitting by the fire, sipping hot chocolate and watching movies.

Our Marital Commitment to One Another and Our Religious Beliefs

Dancing at a Wedding

Like many couples, we etched some words into the inner band of our wedding rings. But, we didn't etch a love note, but rather, the phrase "One in Christ." And, this really sums up what we believe marriage is, describes our marital commitment to one another, and our faith in Christ in a nutshell.

One of the first things that we admired about each other was our mutual love of Christ and the priority that our faith takes in our lives. We both firmly believe that God brought us together and guides and protects us each day. We strive to do God's will in our lives and we see God's blessings around us everyday.

On a deeper level, we both believe that God instituted marriage not only to be a holy bond between a man and a woman, but that it was meant to be a sign of God's love for his people. We pray and aspire to follow in Christ's footsteps and to love each other faithfully and completely in our marriage.
