We have been trying to conceive a baby for the past ten years of our marriage. Our doctors can not pinpoint a reason for our infertility. We have chosen not to pursue any infertility treatments.

We strongly believe that adoption is the way we will build our family. We are certain that we do not need to give birth to a child to become his or her loving parents.

We know this because of our experience with our nephew, Alex. Soon after giving birth, our sister-in-law became very sick. She was hospitalized many times over the next four months. During that time Alex came to live with us so that Lesley's brother could be with his wife in the hospital.

We quickly became experts at feeding and burping, changing diapers, interpreting cries, giving baths, reading stories, and everything else that parents do to care for their children.

We both want to be parents more than anything. Caring for Alex made us realize that we do not need to give birth to a child to become his or her loving parents.

We love to travel. It doesn't matter where we go as long as we are together. Our first trip together was to Newport, RI. That trip inspired us to visit each of the fifty states. So far we have traveled to twenty states. We've had so many special memories and experiences that it is hard to pick just one or two favorites.

We especially enjoyed visiting Seattle. We drank coffee at the very first Starbucks at the Pike Place Market and traveled to the top of the Space Needle.

We also loved visiting New Orleans. We will always remember listening to jazz music in the French Quarter and eating beignets at Café du Monde.

We have many favorite places to explore in New York City. Every December we go to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree. We also walk along Fifth Avenue to see the store windows decorated for the holidays.

We enjoy experiencing the diversity of the United States. We are looking forward to spending our summer vacations traveling to the remainder of the states and showing your child all that America has to offer.

We believe that teaching and learning begin in the home at a young age. We will stimulate your child from birth by reading books, singing songs, playing games, and having play dates with other children. We plan to regularly visit parks, museums, zoos, and aquariums.

Your child will attend the same neighborhood elementary school where Lesley teaches second grade. This school has an excellent reputation. We will always be there to help with homework and school projects. We will encourage your child to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, cub scouts or girl scouts, art, music, or any other interests they develop.

We will support your child in whatever career path they may choose. We have the financial means to allow your child to attend college and pursue further schooling, if necessary. We have already set up a 529-college savings plan, which we contribute to regularly.
