We love to play tennis. There is nothing like getting up early on a sunny Saturday morning and going to the local courts to play tennis for a while. We get all our gear together and get there before it gets too hot to play. We have several sets of tennis courts in our area so one is always close.
We also love baseball. We love to attend local Major League games when possible and we always try to watch our favorite team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. In fact, in January 2008 we spent a week at Fantasy Baseball Camp in Bradenton, Florida. This was a dream come true for both of us. Scott was able to play like a pro and be treated like a pro player. He had the same uniforms, lockers, trainers and pro-staff as the professionals. Cheryl was able to sit by the dugouts and cheer on her husband for an entire week while talking to some retired Pirate players like Kent Tekulve, Steve Blass, Rennie Stennett, Bill Mazeroski, Bill Verdon, and Chuck Tanner, just to name a few.
We love to travel to various baseball parks around the country. So far, we've visited PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA, Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD, Arlington Stadium in Arlington, TX, Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA and Fenway Park in Boston, MA. Our future plans are to do a west coast visit and tour the southern part of California to see the three ballparks there.
Cheryl loves to sing and play the piano and organ. She sings with the church choir as often as possible. The house is always filled with music. She also loves to read. Her favorite authors are Isaac Asimov, Patricia Cornwell, and J. K. Rowling.
Scott loves to work on old Ford Mustangs. He and his Dad own a 1968 Ford Mustang GT that they are restoring. They are always talking about car parts and what they are going to do next on the car.
Our dog, Shelby, is our buddy. He is taken for walks and we play with him in the back yard. We are starting to train him in agility training. That is where the dogs weave in and out of poles, run up then down ramps and run through tunnels. He likes to play, so he loves the attention.
Education is very important to us. We both have our Masters degrees and feel that an education is necessary in order to succeed in today's society. Your child will receive the education they need in order to thrive, be successful and enjoy what they do in life. We will support your child in whatever they decide to do and guide them along the way so that they make appropriate decisions. Your child will attend daycare at our church on weekdays. There is a wonderful preschool program there, so from the beginning, your child will be given the means to thrive.
Shelby’s Portrait
Shelby Turner is our little Westie. He is the light of our lives. He has such a great personality, that we sometimes think he's human. Shelby has shown both of us that we have a lot of love to give. He's taught us responsibility, patience, understanding, tolerance, and compassion. We've learned a lot about how we react to him as a couple. We see how much joy he brings to both of us just by sitting there looking cute. He makes us smile! He is great with kids and loves to play with Cheryl's two great-nephews Caleb and Brody.
