We're Lauren and Steve. We've been married for 6 years and have known each other for 11 more! We've been best friends for a long time and complement each other perfectly. Lauren cooks and Steve grills; Lauren shops and Steve drives; Steve works at an office complex and Lauren works at home; Steve gets up early and Lauren makes coffee!

We both grew up in the New York area, so we share many of the same experiences, values and beliefs. We both quickly learned the value of a strong work ethic from our families, and both worked hard at our education and careers. As a result, we've lived and worked all over the US. Stephen is a sales executive for a luxury automobile manufacturer and has lived in Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and LA. Lauren, a former marketing executive has lived in New York, Atlanta, Dallas, and LA. She's marketed some of the world's most recognized brands but happily...now puts her passion-for-fashion to work for herself in her own, home-based business. Living in these different areas has allowed us to cultivate knowledge, acceptance and respect for many local cultures and communities. PLUS....through this exposure to different people, places and things, along with a natural curiosity and a love for the outdoors, we've gained a wonderfully wide circle of extended family and friends.

Many of our family, friends and neighbors have been touched by adoption. We have 6 cousins who were adopted as 3 of Lauren's cousins each have each adopted 2 children and they all live within a few hours of us. Lauren also grew up with 2 friends and neighbors who were adopted…we still see each from time to time when we both happen to be visiting our moms at the same time. Additionally, 3 more friends and neighbors also recently adopted. They've all been a source of strength, support and hope for us.

A great passion of ours is traveling, touring, exploring and discovering new places. We travel for pleasure and business and have always made it a priority to accompany each other on interesting business trips. So…we've been able to attend events like the Super Bowl, the Indy 500, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, Tournament of Roses Parade, Oktoberfest, and have rallied cross-country with 600 of our closest friends!

Now that Lauren has her own business, the flexibility has afforded her the opportunity to travel more frequently with Steve. One of the things we most look forward to is providing a child with an opportunity to grow by seeing the world. In the past year, we've traveled together to Italy, Canada and Argentina. We've had the chance to visit many places in the US last year too, spending time with family and friends in California, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Connecticut and Atlanta. Back at home, we're also fortunate to be less than one hour from New York City, so we can enjoy the benefits of the city, while living in a warm, friendly suburban town.

There are many more new and exciting places we'd like to visit in the future and we look forward to the possibility of being able to experience them as a family.
