What We’ll Tell Your Child About His/Her Adoption
We plan to openly discuss adoption from a very early age. We will explain that he/she has a birth family that loves them very much and wanted to make sure they were given the best life possible. We will tell your child how they became a part of our family and will create a "life book" for them; including birth/adoption announcement, pictures of the family and place they were born, and pictures and information you would like to share about yourself and your family. We want your child to know as much as you feel comfortable sharing about their birth family. We will make sure he/she knows they are loved by many people, and that we are grateful to you, for giving us the opportunity to have a child and become a family.
What it Means to Be Parents and Our Strengths
We both strongly believe that to be good parents, the child's needs always come first. Since we do not have any children yet, Craig and I have had many years to do all the things we ever wanted to do in our lives that might not be possible with a small child. We got an education, enjoyed our lives as young singles, traveled, and worked hard in our careers to get ahead. We have many life experiences that have helped shaped who we are today and our only desire at this point in our lives is to become the good parents we know we can be. Our life experiences have also provided us with knowledge and wisdom to pass on to a young child; we will teach morals, life lessons, and give guidance to help make them well-rounded individuals.
We have lots of love to give and are affectionate people; a child would be showered with hugs and kisses and they will always know how much they are loved. Parenting is also hard work. We have a strong marriage and would share in the responsibilities that come along with parenting. Other strengths we possess for being good parents are we are very responsible, thoughtful, caring, and we are the balance of being young and fun loving, as well as mature enough to make smart parenting
decisions.
Fun Games, Events, Hobbies, etc. We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child
Fall in the Park
We enjoy many hobbies and activities together and cannot wait to include a child in our adventures. We regularly enjoy walking in our neighborhood park, nearby mountain hiking, vacations, visiting with family and friends and their young children, exploring new places (zoos, museums, gardens, historical sites, etc). We also enjoy going on weekend getaways including beach towns and nearby cities. We can't wait to take a child with us someday on all of our explorations! When we are home, we enjoy our time doing simple things like cooking together, watching movies, reading around the fireplace, and having friends over and playing with their kids in our yard, barbequing, and just spending time together talking and laughing for hours!
