Hi, we are Debra and Don. We have been married for over 15 years and have a
supportive and loving relationship, strong family ties and very close friends. We both grew up in Virginia where we live today. Both of us are "down to earth", adventurous, humorous, and enjoy life to its fullest. We are hoping to share our lives and experiences with a child of our own. Welcoming a child into our loving, stable, warm home is our biggest dream.

Adoption in Our Families
Both of our families are familiar with adoption.
Don's cousins adopted a baby boy from Russia several years ago and are now in the process of adopting another child. They continue to offer advice and support to us.
Debra's Aunt was two years old when her parents were killed within a year of each other. Debra's grandmother was unmarried at the time but very close to her sister and decided to adopt and raise her sister's daughter as her own. Debra's Aunt
grew up knowing she was adopted and never felt that she was treated any differently than her adopted mother's biological children.
Debra has another Aunt who was very young when she got pregnant with her first child. At the time she lived with her mother who was divorced taking care of her mother and raising three daughters as a single parent. They decided as a
family that adoption would be best for the child and her. She placed the baby up for adoption and later married and had three children. Years later, by coincidence she was introduced to the son she put up for adoption. She was very relieved in knowing that the choice she made gave him a very loving and supportive family and a life she was unable to give him.
Our Leisure Time
We both like working in the yard, playing with our dogs and taking care of the pond and our flower and vegetable gardens. In the summer we enjoy taking our boat out on the river and knee boarding or relaxing. Don loves being outdoors, he enjoys fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and Football. Don also competes in fishing tournaments. We spend a lot of the winter months improving our home. We've recently updated our kitchen and are now working on a bedroom. Don has taught Debra a lot of carpentry skills but she still hasn’t been able to get him interested in decorating. This is O.K. by Debra, because she enjoys decorating our home. Debra especially enjoys searching yard sales, shops and the internet for unique items that make our home more interesting. Debra also loves art, photography and being creative.
Our Favorite Vacation Spots
Outside at Our Parents’
Don's parents own a second home in the mountains that gets a lot of use by everyone in the family throughout the year. Don's family is from the area and a lot of his relatives live nearby. The home is located between the mountains by a river and is a very peaceful relaxing place to go. We can hike or ride four-wheelers on the mountain, fish and swim in the river, or just hang out and relax. On Sundays you can hear the church bells ringing and it just gives you a very peaceful feeling. We have taken the nieces and nephews for weekends to fish and visit the caverns and everyone always has a great time.
Debra’s family also rents a beach house or condo every summer. Sometimes it will be in Ocean City Maryland, Virginia Beach, or the Carolinas. Debra’s sister flies in from the West Coast with her family, and everyone spends a week joking around with each other and having a blast.
