How Our Children Are Important in Our Lives

Our family consists of two loving parents and two wonderful children. Our family is the most important thing in our lives, but we yearn for an addition to our family. We want to complete our family, by adopting a child, to nurture, love and welcome as our own together.

Rebecca has two children from her previous marriage, which Colby has stepped right in and become a great stepfather to both of them. Colby does not have any biological children of his own. We are unable to have a child biologically together and have a strong desire to raise a baby together.

Christopher is almost 18 years old, and has plans to work with his bio-father in a family owned business after graduation. Christopher is a very caring, polite and loving to his family and sister. He is a great "brother" as Morgan calls him. Before we were married, Rebecca was very involved with Christopher's activities such as schoolwork, school plays, field trips, little league, recreation basketball and always making halloween costumes. When we were married, Colby stepped right in alongside and we have always been the loudest cheerleaders on the sidelines.

Morgan is 13 years old and so amazing; she has Down syndrome, which is not a draw back for her or the family, it has only made us stronger. Morgan has been involved in physical and educational activities since she was two weeks old, doing her "Baby Jane Fonda Aerobics." Early intervention jump-started her into quite the young lady she has become. Morgan is in a majorette group along with Rebecca for the last 7 years, which is great for self-esteem, the same group that Rebecca was in many years ago. Morgan answers to the nickname of "Miss America". She is mainstreamed for 50% of her school day, which is such an accomplishment. Morgan is an affectionate child, with a very easygoing personality. She has great communication skills. We have talked to her about adoption and she is so excited about the adoption journey. She talks about adopting a baby everyday. Morgan can read very well and is very excited about "reading to the baby". On weekend shopping trips, she can't wait to buy the baby socks, shoes and pajamas.

We are very involved in our children's lives and have a lot of experience and stability to offer a child. Adopting a child would compliment our family and make our life even fuller with love, laughter and the experience of sharing this wonderful gift of a child together.

Common Interests

Home Away from Home

We have several hobbies and we are always supportive of each other's individual hobbies. Colby enjoys his 77 Cobra Mustang and the tinkering that goes with it. We both love the car and enjoy Sunday drives in it. Rebecca is supportive of Colby's hunting, but wonders "why you would get out of a perfectly good warm bed at 4am to go sit in the woods".

Rebecca has a hobby of creating stained glass projects. She makes beautiful window pieces which can be seen throughout our house. Colby get's drafted into helping cut glass and he makes the frames for the panels that she makes.

We also are "camp nuts". We have a recreational vehicle which frequents the local campgrounds from March until retiring the camper after the last weekend in October. Camping offers great family fun, such as swimming, tubing, playgrounds, putt putt Golf, trout fishing, hiking, nightly music, wildlife, campfire conversations and don't forget the hay rides. Camping is a large part of our family fun, we camp with family members, including Colby's Dad and Step Mom, his cousin and family, and many friends. Campgrounds are very kid friendly and have great places for stroller traffic.
