Adding to Our Family

Your child will be welcomed into our family with all the excitement and attention that every new baby deserves when coming into the world. Several of our friends have already planned to host a baby shower for us and we have the nursery ready for the newest addition. We are so anxious to share our joy with family and friends, that we've already started working on a birth announcement:

One day a tiny new angel fell from a cloud,
We were lucky to catch her/him and couldn't be more proud.
Ian says he'll share his toys,
And pat her/him when she/he cries.
Mama and Daddy will make bottles,
And walk the floor at night.
But the greatest joy in this gift from above,
Is where there once were three, now there's four to love!

Planning for the Future

The wonderful thing about Debra's career is that she owns an accounting business that is limited to taxation. Therefore, she gets to be a stay-at-home mom for eight months out of the year. During the other four months of income tax season, Debra's mom helps with babysitting. We are so fortunate that we've never had to use a sitter or daycare facility whenever we need child care. There is nothing like the love and security of being cared for by family.

As parents, we'll do our best to instill a love of learning and a curiosity for new things. One of our top priorities will be reading together as a family. Books open the door to a world full of knowledge and we want our children to be able to share in that wonder. As college graduates, we are firm believers in the value of a good education. We hope that our children will want to pursue a degree as well, so we've already set the money aside in a special college fund. We are committed to providing all the financial support necessary for our children to have the best education and to become successful adults.

What We Do for Fun

Ian Gets Promoted to Pilot!

We love to travel and did so fairly extensively after our marriage. We particularly enjoy tropical locations and have been to Hawaii, Cancun and Jamaica, to name a few. Paul is a certified scuba diver, but he's happily given up shark dives for a shovel, pail and a sandy beach. Debra is an avid amateur photographer, with her favorite subjects being candid family photos and nature scenes.

We recently went to Disney World in Orlando, Florida and had a blast! There are no words to express the pure joy that you see on a child's face when he gets to meet Mickey Mouse for the first time or takes a whirl on the Flying Dumbo ride. The trip was actually meant to be for our son, Ian, but we had just as much fun as he did. We also made trips to Sea World and Coco Beach to play in the surf. Right now all of our travel is centered on children's fun activities, but later we plan to add some educational trips such as Kennedy Space Center and Washington, D.C. Paul has already traveled through Europe as a teenager, but we hope to go again and visit all of the historic landmarks.
