Our niece and nephew are adopted, and we could not imagine our lives without them in it. They are such a special blessing to our whole family. It is because of our close connection to their adoption that we have always had a special place in our hearts for the miracle of building a family through adoption. We have already been attending a monthly adoption group meeting where we have met so many wonderful families who have adopted. We are glad that the child we adopt will have a group of friends that he/she can relate to in our community, and we are fortunate to have a support network of adoptive parents to share our lives with.

We both love to play games, so we are excited about getting down on the floor, being silly, and playing all the age-appropriate games throughout the child's life (Courtney especially likes the singing and dancing ones). We believe in playing an active role of participating in what your child enjoys whether that be riding bicycles, playing basketball in the driveway, helping on the farm, or going swimming. We look forward to having play dates with our friends who have children close in age and taking them to our Wednesday night fun-filled children's program at church. Another thing we are anticipating is taking the child to amusement and water parks, the beach, and the mountains. Some trips will be not only fun, but educational as well such as exploring our US history or learning about other cultures. However, it is probably the everyday moments we look forward to the most: cooking and eating dinner together, snuggling up and reading books together, and saying bedtime prayers.

With Our Dog, Lucy

We enjoy playing outside with our Border Collie, Lucy. She is the perfect dog-very good natured and loves to run and play. We like to ride ATVs on our farm and go for walks as well as tackle landscaping projects around our house. Chris thoroughly enjoys taking care of our cattle and horses and keeping the farm looking beautiful. His other hobbies include playing basketball, softball and golf. Courtney enjoys tap, jazz, and ballet dancing, swimming and reading. Together, we love to travel, attend sporting events, go boating and skiing at a nearby lake, and have our friends and family over for cookouts or game nights.
