Our Children

From Mike: I have two amazing children from a previous marriage. Emilee is nineteen and attends college with a 4.0 GPA. James is fifteen and lives with his mother. James is a high school freshman and plays the guitar. We visit with each other often. Lissa treats them like they are her own children and they treat Lissa with so much respect. My favorite childhood memory with Emilee is when I dressed up in a grass skirt and coconut bra for one of her school events. The smile on Emilee's face was worth the embarrassment. I helped coach James' little league football team. Emilee and James are very excited about having a new brother or sister.

From Lissa: When I married Mike I not only got a husband but I also got two beautiful step children. We lived a couple of miles from them at the time so they stayed with us about half the time. I remember brushing Emilee's hair and helping her with homework. I remember James wanting me to lie down with him until he fell asleep. He would wrap my hair around his finger because he thought it would wake him if I got up. I remember reading both of them bedtime stories and in the winter I would put their comforters in the dryer right before bedtime so that I could tuck them into a warm bed. They have become very polite and caring young adults. They are truly blessings in our life.

What We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child

We can't wait to share our time and love with your child. We will read a lot to your child including bedtime stories. Some of Lissa's fondest childhood memories are her mom and dad reading to her and her siblings. Mike is a natural artist and will share that hobby with your child. We will take your child to sporting events, movies, parks, zoos, children's museums and amusement parks. We will play board games, go on vacations, go swimming and go hiking with your child. We will help your child with school work and prepare him/her for school.

We look forward to dressing your child up for Halloween and making cookies at Christmas time. We will spend a lot of time outdoors with your child. We will make sure all your child's holidays are spent with family and friends to make lasting memories.

Our Leisure Time

Relaxing at Home with Our Cats - Honey and Buttercup

We treasure our free time together and both love the outdoors. We love hiking, horse backing riding, camping and the beach. We like to watch hockey, baseball, and basketball games. Mike enjoys playing hockey and plays goalie position. We like to watch the St. Louis Blues and the Detroit Red Wings play hockey against each other. Lissa cheers for the Blues and Mike cheers for the Red Wings. We still go home together after the game regardless of who wins.

We enjoy our time relaxing at home as well. We have two cats and they think they are our children. Maybe that's because we treat them that way. The house is never boring with the two cats around. Other times we have family or friends over for cookouts and to play rook which is our favorite card game.
