We have been praying for the day when you would read this profile and your heart would connect with ours. We are proud of you for choosing life for your child, and we understand that you are now faced with one of the most difficult decisions of your life. We cannot imagine what you must be going through, but the Lord knows all about it, and He will let you know what is best if you put your trust in Him. It is our sincere hope that you find what it is that you are looking for on your journey whether or not adoption becomes a part of it.

Our Family Traditions

One of the things that we are most excited about when it comes to parenting is that we will get a chance to share some of our favorite family traditions. Each year as summer nears its end, we anxiously await our all-time favorite family activity - our county fair. This is a celebration that began as a reunion over one hundred years ago. Our friends and family come from miles around to enjoy the rides, the music, the corn dogs and the cotton candy. Most of all, though, we all enjoy a chance to kick back, relax, and have fun with those we love.

Another family tradition that we hope to share some day is our love of the country. Farming is a tradition that has been passed down in Beau's family for several generations. Our young nieces already love to go with their grandpa to feed the cows and check for baby calves. This gives the kids a chance to bond with their grandpa and a chance to see all the new arrivals as they jump and play in the field. Another fun aspect of living in the country is watching for wildlife all around. Just last year we saw some baby deer near our home, and they were tame enough to let us pet them. We hope to instill a deep respect for nature and the outdoors in your son or daughter just as our parents did with us.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other!

What Sarah Admires About Beau: The one thing that never ceases to amaze me about Beau is his endless capacity to love and care for others. He has such a passion for helping people whether it is one of our neighbors or a complete stranger. Just last week, Beau heard about a man in our community who needed wood for the winter and was too sick to get it himself. Beau dropped his plans and took time out of his day to cut and stack wood for our neighbor. Several years ago, Beau traveled to Jamaica on a church mission trip. Believe it or not, this is a part of the world where claiming Christianity can sometimes put your life in danger. When he got back, he told me about how his heart was filled with love for everyone he had met, and how he was glad that he was able to witness the love that goes into the organization of a church. This experience opened Beau's eyes to the world and helped him to understand just how much God cares about each and every one of his children. Beau seems to have a never-ending amount of compassion, love, and courage, and that is why I know he will be a great father.

What Beau Admires About Sarah: At the end of a long day, I am always glad to find Sarah waiting at the door to greet me with a smile and open arms. I know that whatever happens out in this crazy world we live in that I have a safe place to land when I get home. I admire so much about my wife, but above all I'm proud of her for her ability to always look for the good in people. Because of her strength, Sarah is able to reach many of her students that others had simply given up on. She does not expect her students to be perfect, but she loves and cares for them in spite of any flaws that they might have. I've seen her cry tears of joy and tears of pain as she tells me about the kids that she sees every day. In addition to her compassion, I love Sarah's sense of humor. I can count on her to lighten the mood of almost any situation by getting those around her to laugh. One of our favorite things to do is to cuddle up on the couch and watch America's Funniest Home Videos. I can't imagine watching it without her because we always laugh at the same parts together. Somehow she always makes the videos just a little bit funnier. I also admire Sarah for her determination. She seems to accomplish whatever she sets her mind to do because she refuses to give up. Because of all the good that I see in her, I know that Sarah will be a wonderful, loving mother. I can only imagine what it will be like to come home one day and find two sets of open arms to greet me!

Religious Experiences

Attending a Baptism

Our faith is not one that is based entirely on blind hope. It is based on a solid foundation of experiences with God. The Lord has been with us through some of the darkest trials, and he has helped us to come out of them as better people. A couple of years back, Sarah's sister, Angie, was diagnosed with cancer. Soon after this diagnosis, our family gathered to pray. Soon after, back at the hospital, Angie's doctors didn't know what to think. The spots that had shown up in her lungs only months earlier had disappeared! Miraculously, Angie has been cancer-free for over a year now. We thank God for each and every day we get to spend with her.

Another miracle that we've witnessed involves one of the early stages of our adoption experience. When we decided to adopt, the immediate challenge that we faced was how we would ever be able to afford it. Because of all the legal fees involved, we were scared that we might not ever be able to achieve this dream of parenthood. Although it seemed that the odds were against us, it was then that we began to pray. We asked the Lord to make a way for us. In the midst of despair, we asked him for wisdom and guidance. We decided to refinance our house even though we had just purchased it months earlier. When we refinanced, a new appraisal was ordered. Our house appraised for almost thirty thousand dollars more than it had less than a year earlier and provided us with just the right amount of equity that we needed. It is through these experiences with God that our faith is strengthened day by day. We are counting on the Lord to know what is best for our family and to unite us with the birth family that He has chosen for us.
