How Adoption Has Affected Our Lives
Adoption has affected our lives in so many ways. We experienced much heartbreak and disappointment in our journey to become parents. After several miscarriages and failed IVF treatments we had almost lost hope. That's when we realized that God's plan wasn't for us to have children but to be parents, and really that was all we wanted in life. We then knew that adoption was going to change our lives, and it did when we were blessed with our daughter, Taylor, through adoption in 2004. God had sent us an angel and that angel made us a family. Adoption is very special to us, also because two of Greg's cousins are adopted; and one of Lisa's close friends is adopted. We have seen and experienced how adoption can heal broken hearts, bring joy, and fulfill families in many ways. Words can't even express the joy and love that adoption has brought us, and our families. We are gracious for this gift of life and treasure every moment as a family.
We had the incredible opportunity to meet Taylor's birthmother and her family, and spent time with them in the hospital. We created wonderful memories to share with Taylor to give her a true understanding of the love her birthmother has for her. We are able to tell her about the kind, strong and beautiful woman that gave her life. We would love to meet you as well if that is what you desire.
Taylor can't wait to be a big sister! She asks everyday if it is the day her baby brother or sister is coming.
Discussing Adoption with Our Children
We believe it is important to talk openly about the beautiful gift that was giving to our children and to us by their birthparents, and that is life and family. Adoption is such a special gift, and a very loving act on behalf of the birthmother. We will share with your child how they became part of our family and how much you loved and cared for them. They will know and comprehend the unselfish act they gave us the opportunity to share our lives together. We will provide any
necessary guidance they made need in dealing with or understanding adoption. Our home is ready and full of love for a baby, and if you choose us as the parents of your baby we will be truly appreciative for this amazing gift. We would also love to share with you pictures and letters throughout the years, so you can see the wonderful love and care that your child will receive.
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Having Fun in Barbados
One of our favorite vacation spots would have to be a small town called Playa Del Carmen, which is in the center of the Mayan Riviera, located at the eastern most part of Mexico. We always stay at an all-inclusive resort where the food is amazing. Both of us love the sun and enjoy lying at the beach and relaxing to the sounds of the clear blue ocean. We just love any place with white sand beaches and the Caribbean Sea, and of course good food.
Last April, as a family we were lucky enough to get the opportunity to take a Royal Caribbean Cruise. We visited several of the islands. This was Taylor's first time to see the ocean and her first time of wiggling her toes in the sand was on the white beaches in Barbados. We had the greatest time and have tons of incredible memories. Taylor always wonders when she gets to ride on the big boat again. So we have a feeling another cruise will be in our future.
