Our Sons
We have a child from Paul's previous marriage, Shane is 12yrs old and he has the biggest heart. Shane has always excelled in school and sports. He's the most loving and caring 12yr old you would ever want to meet, always concerned about everyone around him. Colby is our one year old who was adopted as a newborn. Colby's the most outgoing and loving one year old you would ever meet. Both of our boys enjoy being with each other, watching them laugh and play together makes us so happy.
We both have talked openly with Shane about the adoption and he's so excited. One day Shane came home from school
and told us he had written a letter to the adoption agency, we were both very surprised by his desire to be a part of the adoption and also amazed he worked on the letter all by himself. Once we read the letter it was truly amazing how he managed to write such a descriptive letter about himself and his family. There is no doubt our sons will love and welcome your child into our home.
How Adoption Has Affected Our Lives
We both love children and wish we could have a house filled with them. After our experience with infertility treatments and being unsuccessful we had to deal with the disappointment and heartbreak. But nothing we have been through compares to the life changing decisions you are about to make.
In 2006 we were blessed when we adopted our son, Colby William who turned one in November. He will be great with his new brother or sister as we watch him interact with other children. Words can not express how much joy he has brought not only to our lives but our families and friends lives as well.
We didn't get to meet with Colby's parents before the birth because she ended up going into labor before the day we scheduled to meet. We met in the hospital and we spent time with both of them before and after the birth really getting to know each other. We wanted to be able to tell Colby when he's old enough just what wonderful birth parents he has. We write letters and send lots of pictures as we want them to know what a wonderful gift they have given us and they will know how great there son is doing as we would want to do the same for you.
We have friends and family who have adopted and know our children will be able to go to one another for love and support and to discuss what they have in common whenever they want. We will make sure our children understand where they came from and what incredible birth parents they have.
What We Like to Do for Fun
Shane & Colby’s Day of Fishing with Grandparents and Cousins
When it comes to having fun there are many things we each prefer. We love packing up the boat and taking it out on the lake or the river for a long day on the water, tubing or waterskiing. We enjoy spending time with our friends socializing and just hanging out or even grilling a good meal together. One of our passions is NASCAR racing, which we try to spend sometime sitting together on the couch watching the races or even going to a race. We also enjoy an evening at home as a family, ordering pizza and watching a movie. Kristina enjoys working out at home doing aerobics and also loves watching a good football game on a Sunday afternoon. Paul enjoys the outdoors and spends time hunting either alone or with his son Shane.
