How We Met

Our story is a very special one. It describes a connection that was meant to be. We met in high school. Both were typical teenagers. Carrie was a cheerleader and Bobby was an active baseball player. During her sophomore year, Carrie moved to the school. At the time, Bobby was out having knee surgery. One day, Carrie was eating lunch with a friend and her friend told her that she knew the perfect boy for her. When Bobby returned to school, Carrie's friend pointed him out. Our paths rarely crossed but when they did, Carrie felt sorry for him as he struggled trying to walk around on his crutches. She never spoke to him. Bobby did not know about Carrie's conversation with her friend, but one day she was walking to class and Bobby was walking behind her. Bobby had never seen Carrie before but knew there was something different about her. Bobby tried to get her attention but Carrie did not see him. Bobby could not stop thinking about Carrie and finally got up the nerve to get her telephone number and call her. Come to find out, the number that Bobby had gotten was for Carrie's grandmother's house. Eventually, Bobby got Carrie's home number and the rest is history.

Volunteer Time

It is vitally important to us that we give of our time and energy. We strongly believe that it is a privilege to serve others. Weekly, Bobby and Carrie volunteer a great amount of their time to their local church. Bobby works in the Royal Rangers department where he teaches kindergarten, first and second graders. Royal Rangers is a bible based version of Boy Scouts. Carrie volunteers her time by helping fourth grade girls in the Mpact program. This program is a bible based form of Girl Scouts. Once a month, we assist in the church's nursery taking care of precious one year old children. Also, we are active participants in our church's bi-annual fundraising campaign. The funds are raised to provide monies for community outreach centers.

Outside of church, Bobby is a member of our county's Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He donates his time by working with the city's Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball teams. He is also active with United Way where he serves on the Community Investment Process team.

Our Leisure Time

An Evening on the Beach

Over the years, Bobby and Carrie's bond has strengthened. We thoroughly enjoy spending time together. We look forward to our leisure time. This is a chance for us to recharge our batteries. We take pleasure in reading, going to the movies, attending local sporting events, going to the beach, visiting amusement parks, and sitting on our back porch talking with one another. Our residence is relatively close to the beach and we love to lie out in the sand while listening to the waves. As much as we love the beach, we also enjoy the comfort of our own home. While at home relaxing, we enjoy playing board games and puzzles. Carrie loves reading, scrap booking, shopping and playing the piano while Bobby enjoys being outdoors playing golf or fishing.

We have a passion for cooking and enjoy entertaining guests. Being surrounded by family and friends is very fun and relaxing to them. Bobby and Carrie also like to have fun by traveling, whether it is a day trip or spending a week. We never try to travel to the same location twice and always choose a city that we can explore by walking rather than driving. The adventure of exploring a new city is very intriguing to us. Because of our love for good food, we usually rate a city on how good of a vacation spot it is by how much we enjoy the various cuisines it offers.
