What Makes Our Marriage Unique
Karl and Cynthia grew up in totally different backgrounds. Cynthia went through all the education available; Karl was in the Navy for 20 years. Cynthia is an overachiever; Karl is more laid back. But the story of opposites attract is not a new one. So, what makes our marriage unique is how we make it work. Actually, it is not "work" at all. We just fit together, like a pieces of a puzzle. We haven't had a fight in 2 ½ years that we have known one another. Anytime we are unhappy about something, feel under the weather or just blue, we say to each other "you are stuck with me" and we smile- always. It is the solution to all problems, and it works for us. We share responsibilities, although Karl does the lion share of the work. He feels that since Cynthia is working longer hours and his hours are more flexible, he can do most of the errands. Karl's generosity and understanding is exceptional and unusual. However, once a child enters our lives, we will be sharing the responsibility of caring and raising the child together. When we are out together, people mistake us for newlyweds. We plan to always be that way.
Our Leisure Time
In our spare time, we enjoy going to the movies, eating out with friends, visiting with family, and traveling. We live near the beach, and we take full advantage of it. It is just a short bike ride or walk to get there, and we love to spend time near the ocean on the weekends when the weather permits. During our vacations, we take advantage of exploring nature by taking walks and hikes in the beautiful
surroundings. Karl has been an avid NASCAR fan for many years, and we try to go to one or two races a year. Karl also loves football and is a big Denver Broncos fan. Cynthia is a Disney fan and collects Disney memorabilia and movies. We have been to both Disneyland and Disney World and plan to go back again with a child. Cynthia also loves to shop and go to art festivals. She minored in art in undergraduate school and we have several of her original works hanging in our house. We both love to read and think that reading is a very important hobby to introduce to a child.
Our Pets
Our Kitties
Cynthia and Karl are both animal lovers. We both grew up with animals in our lives and now have two wonderful cats. Winnie has been with Cynthia for 13 years. We adopted Nuffus (short for Fluffanuffinus) 6 months ago from an animal shelter at 10 years of age. We wanted to adopt an older animal because we new that they would have more trouble finding a home. Another cat we had, Dax, we adopted from an animal shelter at 10 years of age. Dax unfortunately became sick quickly after she joined our family. Karl brought Dax to the vet every day to help care for her. We know that we helped Dax have a good, happy life with us. The animals in our lives have given us unconditional love. Each animal that we have and have had holds a very important place in our hearts.
