How We Met and Things We Like to Do
Our story began 5 years ago, when Bill's sister Jeanne introduced us. Kathleen, who is an occupational therapist, and Jeanne, who is a physical therapist, previously worked together in a rehabilitation hospital and had remained friends over the years since working together. Jeanne had a feeling that we would make a great match as our families and lives were so similar. And she was right!! We met for dinner and really felt like we had known each other for years. We dated for 8 months and became engaged. We have a wonderful marriage filled with love, honesty, respect, and lots of laughs.
We have a lot in common and enjoy working in our yard, gardening, tackling home projects, taking long walks together in our neighborhood, going to the movies and relaxing by the TV together. We are both looking forward to new activities that a child will bring, like stroller rides, hide and go seek, playing board games, reading books, cheering him or her on at games, swimming in our lake and at the beach and being involved in homework assignments. Our favorite activity to do together is travel. We enjoy visiting different places that we've never been to. We can't wait to have a little one to take them traveling with us. We really enjoy traveling with our friends and family and their small children. We went to Disney a few years ago and had so much fun and we envision a day when we would take your child there to experience the magic of Disney together.
Education
We are both college educated and plan to offer the same opportunities to your child. We learned to appreciate the value of a college education by working before and during college. We believe it's important for a child to be exposed to many things - sports, academics, music, culture and the arts. We are fortunate to live in an area with a very good school system that provides a learning environment which reinforces a child's natural curiosity, independence, and intellectual development. We have a plan to provide for the finances that will be needed for your child's education, so we can ensure they are able to succeed in any path they choose.
Our Pets
Our Dog Derry
Our dog's name is Derry, she is 3 ½ years old and she's an important part of our family. We chose her name after visiting a city in Ireland which we fell in love with and thought it was a fitting name for her since she is an Irish Terrier. She is energetic and playful and loves to
be the center of attention. Not only is she part of our family but our extended family as
well. Our parents and niece and nephews love to come to our house to play with her in our
backyard. In the summer, we spend many weekends at Bill's parent's beach house and Derry can't wait to get there. She loves to dig in the sand, play fetch with a ball, and take long walks by the bay. In our living room we have a large 55 gallon fish tank filled with colorful tropical fish. Our niece and nephews love coming over to count the fish as they feed them and give them all names.
