We feel that there is nothing greater to experience than parenthood. We understand that by being chosen by a birthmother is a tremendous gift and responsibility. We believe that our actions are powerful, not just the words we say. Children learn from not only what you tell them but from what you do. What your child will see is a couple that has a strong base in love. We have mutual respect for one another and treat each other kindly. We respect nature and animals and will teach your child to look at the world with love and kindness. We believe it's important to listen to your child and encourage all of his/her dreams into reality. We understand that by being a good parent its doing things that might not be "popular", but what's best for the child. There is no greater challenge and no greater reward.

Mike raced motocross in his youth and did quite well. He still has a great love for the sport and occasionally gets together with the boys to relive the glory days. His parents went to every meet, every race. We have a basement full of trophies. Mike and his dad are not only father and son, but friends. They worked together for many years and built a very successful business.

While Mike was racing, Silke was modeling in Japan and Europe. She started when she was sixteen, but wasn't fully into it until she graduated. Silke later moved to New York where she did a lot of ads and catalogues. She also started singing with her girlfriends at the time and made a CD. She and her friends performed at the at the Palladium Club and it was a lot of fun, but it wasn't for her.

We look back on those days and realize how lucky we were to experience those things, but more importantly how important friends and family are.

Our Little Family

We love animals. Mike had a pet rabbit as a child. His name was Nibbles. Both Mike and I grew up with pets. When Mike and I met, I had a small maltese dog named Piccolo. It always made me smile seeing Mike take tiny Piccolo to the park. When Piccolo died we were heartbroken. We both believe that pets make a house a home so shortly after we got Ryder, he's our Boston Terrier and Terra she's our Boxer. Our pets are very good with children. Terra the Boxer is a very gentle dog. One of our mutual friends has a son who is autistic, he can't talk and is in his own world, but when they come to visit he immediately goes to Terra and plays with her. The boy doesn’t realize he sometimes plays rough with her, but Terra just loves him, and doesn’t leave his side. Ryder likes to play and loves to play with my nieces and nephews when they come to visit. Our dogs have brought us much love and laughter and they are inseparable. They sleep together in a kennel and are happiest when we take them for their daily walk around the property.
