It is our dream to be parents! We genuinely believe we could give your child love that is unconditional, a nurturing home, educational support, and encouragement in everything he or she desires to be. Both of us were raised in a loving family environment and yearn to share this with your baby. We are thankful and excited for the opportunity to be considered as parents for the precious little one. The most important thing is quality time together and making sure he or she knows that anything is possible and nothing is out of reach if you put forth the effort.

How Adoption Has Affected Us Personally

Kathy has a childhood friend, Sharon, who was adopted at birth. They lived across the street from one another growing up and remain close friends today. Sharon was adopted into a loving home and was loved unconditionally from the moment she entered her parents' lives. As she got older she sustained a close and loving relationship with her adoptive parents which continues today.

Sharon has been very open and honest about her adoption process and considers her birth mother to be a very strong person to be able to make such a sacrifice. She realizes this decision was made so she could have a life with more advantages than her birth mother could provide.

Knowing what a positive experience it has been for Sharon and her family, we also wish to provide that for a child. As he or she grows, we will be open and honest to any questions that may arise. We will read books, on their age level, about adoption and have discussions together. It is important to us to make sure the child knows that it is because they are loved so much by you that he or she is now in our lives.

Fun, Games and Hobbies

We are eagerly awaiting the many different things being a family will offer. It will be important to us as a family to take day trips to the zoo, an aquarium, and many museums. Weekend trips to the beach will be something we can all look forward to. Seeing the amazement in the child's eyes when discovering jellyfish and horseshoe crabs that have washed up on shore will be breathtaking. Collecting sea shells and building sand castles will be fun for everyone!

He or she will always have a bedtime story before bed. This will hopefully instill the love of reading and the wanting to ascertain new knowledge. Making and having friends is extremely important in a child's life and we will do nothing but encourage new relationships with other children while growing up.

Games such as Go Fish and Chutes -N- Ladders will often be played as a family. Making creations with Play Dough and coloring, I'm sure, will be a daily activity! Neighborhood bike rides are always a fun family thing to do outdoors. We look forward to teaching the child many things, such as, how to ride a bicycle and encouraging him or her to never give up and to keep going.

Education

Playing with Our Neighbor at a Nearby Park

From day one, the child will be nurtured with pleasing colors, a calm voice tone and a soothing touch. He or she will be given an early education by being exposed to a wide vocabulary and a range of books. He or she will always be encouraged to join any school club or sport that is of any interest and to follow through with it. Kathy has been a preschool teacher for many years and has seen first hand the remarkable progress children have made throughout a school year and feels blessed to have helped make that possible in so many young lives. Kathy has also had experience with developmentally challenged children and has had the opportunity to be a part in their lives as well. Her caring nature for young individuals is one of the qualities Mark finds so appealing about her.
