What We Do for Fun
We love to take vacations as a family and enjoy each other’s company. Usually once a year we get away just the two of us for a long weekend. We recently got back from a mini vacation to Florida where we shopped, ate good food, people watched, met up with some cousins, and just relaxed by the pool and beach.
At home we enjoy having friends over for get-togethers whether it is barbequing and sitting outside on our deck watching kids play on the swing-set, listening to music, or going out to dinner.
Apart from one another, Matt loves to collect sports memorabilia and in fact has quite an extensive collection. Matt is very proud of his Mohammed Ali boxing gloves that he and his dad bought several years ago. He also is into home remodeling, reading war and spy novels as well as "classics" and attending sporting events.
Sheri enjoys shopping, having girl's night outs with her friends, playing tennis and skiing and watching reality television when she has the time.
Fun Games, Events, Hobbies, etc. We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child
Since we live in New England, we enjoy all four seasons. In the winter we look forward to skiing and sledding in the hills of Vermont and Maine. Sheri has been skiing since she was a little girl with her dad and sister and can't wait to get the rest of the family up on skis. Matt is a little resistant to skiing and rather snowboard. In the spring, we look forward to the start of baseball season at Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium and just getting outside enjoying the warm weather. In the summer,
we plan to start our own tradition of spending time on Cape Cod, wading in the water at the beach and strolling down main streets eating ice cream and window shopping. We also look forward to going up to New Hampshire to Story Land (kids theme park) where kids can enjoy seeing their favorite TV friends "live" in person Lastly, in the fall, even before Sam was born, we've loved apple and pumpkin picking, taking hay rides, watching the leaves turn colors, and recently, trips to the nearby zoo.
Our Pet
Sam and Cooper in the Snow
When we were married for just a few years we decided to get our dog, Cooper (soft coated wheaten terrier). Because Sheri is allergic to most dogs we had to do our homework and find a breed that she wouldn't be allergic too. Growing up Sheri was only allowed to have parakeets as pets (and fish of course) and Matt had dogs. We couldn't wait to get our dog. Cooper was so tiny when we first got him, he looked like a little bear cub. He loved to snuggle and be by our sides. Soon after we got home with him he was into everything, following us around and just being a part of the "pack". We always tell friends that Cooper is our "first" furry child. He is a big part of our family. He even gets his own gifts at holidays from his Aunts. The unconditional love we receive, combined with the patience he has with Sam is truly amazing. Sam and Cooper get along very well are always looking for one another to see what mischief they can get into together.
