Adoption has enabled us to start the family we had always dreamed of, but were unable to create on our own due to infertility. Words can't express the love and happiness our son Alex has brought into our lives and the lives of everyone in our families thanks to the miracle of adoption. We believe children are a blessing from God and we feel honored to have been chosen to be Alex's parents.

It was about two years ago when we received the call that changed our lives forever. Our adoption specialist called to tell us that we had been chosen as adoptive parents and that the birthmother was due in a month! We were overjoyed, nervous and in a state of disbelief. We set up a call with our adoption specialist so we could talk to the birthparents for the first time. We could hardly wait to hear their voices and while we were all a little nervous at first, we knew that this was a moment we would cherish forever.

Right after that call, we tried to schedule a trip to meet the birthparents in person for a chance to get to know each other better, but Alex had other plans. He was born five weeks early. When we got the call that his birthmother was in labor, we dropped everything that second and packed our bags for the most life-changing trip of our lives. Once we got to the hospital, it was wonderful to have had the opportunity to meet the birthparents and their families. Those first memories we will always cherish - we think about them all the time - and we feel grateful to have had the opportunity to meet everyone so we can share with Alex what truly wonderful people his birth parents are. We look forward to the day when we can experience it again by hopefully welcoming another child into our lives through adoption.

Welcoming Alex in our family has given our lives more meaning. Every day brings new joy and excitement as we watch him grow and learn. You can't help but feel joy when you see his silly smile, or listen to his squeals of joy as he plays. We feel blessed every day to have him in our lives and could not be more thankful that his birthparents chose us.

We think of his birthparents often and feel eternally grateful to them. Words simply cannot express the feelings shared through this kind of experience. We look forward to sending pictures and letters to share his progress and show how happy we are as a family. Alex's birth parents will always hold a special place in our hearts. It's nice to know that your child will be able to share their adoption experience with an older brother who was also adopted. Our hope is that Alex and his new brother or sister will be close in age and enjoy all the ups and downs that come with having siblings. Alex is gentle, caring and loves babies, so we just know that he will be an excellent big brother.

We know that each adoption experience is special and unique. Your child will always know how special and loved they are. We'll support them, offer reassurance, and help them feel comfortable with the way they came into our family. We'll tell your child that you chose adoption, the ultimate act of love, to ensure they have a life filled with more opportunities and everything you believe your child deserves.

Alex’s Birthday Party with Family

We are an active family and have fun indoors and out. We like working out at the gym, traveling to new places and snuggling on the sofa to watch movies. We really like to travel, and our favorite trips have been to warm, sunny places, whether it is a day-trip to the Jersey shore to walk and play along the boardwalk or a tropical escape to the islands of the Caribbean Sea. We have been to Aruba, the Bahamas, Cancun and the Dominican Republic so far, and we look forward to more fun-in-the-sun adventures in the future. We can't wait to take our children to Disney World!

We also like to share our leisure time with friends and family. Our weekends are filled with visiting friends and family for birthday parties and backyard barbeques. We have many friends with young children and we try to get together as often as possible to give the kids plenty of play time with each other. When we are not visiting with friends, we relax around our house. We have a play-set in our large backyard that Alex loves as well as a sandbox and water toys that he spends hours playing with. We take many trips to the big neighborhood parks so he has a chance to make new friends.
