How We Met and What We Love About Each Other

On a Saturday evening in September, we met at our church's worship service. Our singles' pastor introduced us and we went together to the Singles' Bible Study. The single men and women went out to a small Italian Restaurant afterward and the two of us talked the night away! We dated for the next couple of years, came to love each other's families, and married exactly two years later in September 2002.

John is loving, helpful, funny, outgoing, and athletic. He is also musically inclined. He sings solos in church and participates in the Christmas program each year. John is also hardworking and a goal-setter. He is studying for his Optician's License and will finish his exams in 2009. John also helps out at home by landscaping our yard to get it ready for child-centered activities. Most importantly, he loves children and will be a great father!

Marianne is loving, kind, friendly, musical, athletic, and loves to learn. She highly values education and taught Preschool for several years after college. It was her favorite job! She now teaches and nurtures the one-year-old children in our church preschool nursery. She can't wait to shower a precious child with all of her love, knowledge, and practical experience!

What Adoption Means to Us

We Love Disney World

We have a great appreciation for adoption because John's Dad, Mike, and his Aunt Joy were adopted siblings. It was a wonderful blessing for everyone involved, especially John's Grandparents. John's Mom and Dad raised him and his two brothers in a close-knit family who are very devoted to extended family as well. John's Grandmother and two cousins live on our street! In addition, we have a close friend, Sarah, who was adopted and who is an incredible person! She graduated from college with a Masters Degree in Counseling. She is especially compassionate, is a devoted daughter, and has a meaningful relationship with her birth family.

We believe it is very important to communicate your child's adoption story to your child throughout life. We can start from day one speaking about adoption, progress into telling and reading picture books, and talk about the wonderful way he/she became a part of our family as much as they wish. We will also tell your child how much you love them, the sacrifices you have made, and how truly special you are. We plan on sending photos and letters to you so that you will see the wonderful blessings your decision has brought about in your child's life.
