She organizes many enjoyable outings for the family to participate in. She has a love of nature and wildlife, and likes being out in the garden whenever possible. Sheila is sensitive, enthusiastic and independent. Her

How Adoption Has Affected Us Personally
Adoption has affected our family personally because Sean's Mother was adopted when she was an infant. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle. Although she was adopted by her own family she can still relate to not knowing her biological mother or father. She can understand the feelings a child may have and help to guide us on how to deal with difficult situations. Her mother is now 96 years old and has lived with her daughter for over 30 years. Sean has a very special relationship with his grandmother.
Our 8 year old niece was adopted from Guatemala. She is an angel with so much charm and beauty inside and out. We enjoy taking her places like the mall or the movies. She is an excellent shopping partner and is already particular about her clothes and shoes. From the moment she arrived she has been embraced by both of our families and we cannot imagine life without her now.
Our Pets
Riley and Tammy
We have dog named Riley and a cat named Tammy. Riley is a yellow lab mix that was found homeless on the street five years ago. Tammy is a tabby cat who was rescued from a shelter. They are both extremely gentle and get along wonderfully. During the winter they curl up together by the fire. They are a part of our family and reward us for the care we give them by providing us with a better quality of life. The benefits of pet ownership to both our physical and mental well being are invaluable and immeasurable. Children and adults both benefit from the positive effect pets have in our lives. Children especially learn valuable lessons in responsibility and empathy. Children consider pets their friends and important members of the family. One of the many benefits of having Riley is increased activity and exercise. When we go for long walks not only are we keeping our pet happy and healthy but ourselves as well. Stress is relieved when we are petting, hugging or walking our dog after a bad day. Pets give us a sense of purpose and focus which is a benefit to all ages. It is extremely rewarding for us to have Tammy and Riley in our lives and to benefit from their unconditional love.
