Fun Games, Events, Hobbies, etc. We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child
Sports and games are a big part of our lives. We enjoy watching and attending all sorts of professional sporting events - baseball, hockey and NASCAR are some of our favorites. Sunday afternoons in the summer are spent spiritedly watching NASCAR races and ribbing one another about the performance of our favorite drivers. We are anxious to share our passions with a child by taking them to sporting events and having the opportunity to show him/her how much fun sports can be. We will teach the child about the sport, the rules, how important it is to play fair, and the importance of winning and losing the right way. Going to sporting events together as an extended family are always a great time with the all of us together and will be fun to share with a child - we have found over the years, even though we don't all cheer for the same team, we are always cheering for each other. Another family activity we enjoy is family game night. We play Scrabble, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and other card and board games.
It is fun to spend time challenging each other, talking about the day, and having a great time without TV, telephone or other
distractions. We will share that fun with a child and emphasize the importance of spending time together to strengthen family relationships and keeping up with all the family activities. By enjoying family game nights, we will be able to make sure our family stays close.
Education
Education is very important to both of us. We have worked very hard to achieve a higher education. Scott has recently completed his MBA and Jen is completing a PhD in nursing science. The common thread for us was the support we received from our parents - we both worked hard for our degrees, but the love and support we were given gave us the self-confidence we needed to excel. We realize how important self-confidence is to education and we will do everything we can to cultivate that in a child. We live in one of the highest rated districts in the state. While the school is important, we feel that the most important ingredient in a child's education is engaged, involved parents. We want to be involved and supportive in our child's education to instill a love of learning. Everyone has different talents and passions and we will help the child realize his/her talents and support his/her dreams, no matter what path they choose.
Our Pets
Our Two Cats Sitting on Macy’s Bed Snuggling in Sun-Their Favorite Activity
We have two blissfully spoiled cats - Macy & Madison. They hold a special place in our hearts. We are both animal lovers and have had pets all our lives. It always amazes us how distinct their personalities are. Macy is a dainty little cat who has a very quiet meow and loves to sleep in the sun as much as possible. Madison is a large (we admit it - overweight) cat with a loud, get-you-out-of-bed meow and is always awake and ready to play. When we come home in the evening, it means so much to have the girls waiting for us and to cuddle when we need to be reminded to slow down and remember our blessings. That is the most important thing for us - the girls lead such a simple, happy, contented life, it reminds both of us that we need to not get caught up in the hectic day to day hassles, but remember the little and big things that keep us happy and healthy.
