What it Means to Be Parents and Our Strengths

We both love children and are eager to start our family. After having dealt with several unsuccessful infertility treatments and disappointment, we are turning to adoption as a way to bring joy not only to our lives, but to your child as well. We look forward to having family dinners together, helping him/her with homework, teaching him/her to ride a bike, and tucking him/her into bed at night while reading bedtime stories.

We believe that it is essential to provide a loving home where we lead by example through being good role models. Our goal is to teach a child how to be independent and encourage him/her to become their own person while guiding them with support, compassion, and unconditional love. We will do everything within our means to provide the financial and emotional backing your child will need to make him/her happy and successful.

Although we have unsuccessfully tried to conceive a biological child of our own, we believe God has revealed his ultimate plan for us with adoption!

Our Family Traditions

Our families are both tightly knit and we have many fun family traditions. Tim’s family, for instance, would celebrate every July 4th with a family get-together at the local park for a picnic and to watch fireworks. Many summer days were spent riding bicycles and chasing fireflies at night. He also fondly remembers spending Sundays at his grandparents’ farm playing in the barn, bailing hay, learning to drive, and enjoying his grandmother’s fabulous cooking! Christmastime was always very special as well. He remembers spending every Christmas Eve driving through local neighborhoods to look at the Christmas lights and then returning home to drink eggnog and set out cookies and milk for Santa before eagerly awaiting the next morning when they would have presents waiting under the tree. After opening presents, they would enjoy a holiday breakfast tradition of an apple tea ring.

Stephanie’s family spent every Spring break in Colorado on a family ski trip. She keenly remembers skiing off the beaten path, through tree trails, going down the mountain and feverishly trying to keep up with her father and brother while taking every jump along the way. Stephanie has fond memories of spending Halloween day at her grandmother’s house helping to prepare a “ghost walk” for all the grandchildren to enjoy. They peeled grapes to make them into slimy eyeballs and cooked spaghetti noodles to simulate scrambled brains. You can imagine the excitement of being dared, as a child, to reach into a bowl of eyeballs and brains! These were moments to cherish walking through the “ghost walk” at dark and being frightened by ghouls and goblins in the hayloft on their farm.

We both value our family traditions and look forward to creating many new ones that include your child, as well. We plan on taking yearly vacations, spending summers at the lake, eating dinner together as a family, and reading nightly bedtime stories, with prayers and kisses. We’ll boil and decorate eggs for Easter egg hunts involving all the nieces and nephews in our backyard. We’ll also play holiday music as we decorate the house for Christmas and bake cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.

What We Do for Fun

Josie and Jackson

No matter what it is we are doing, we truly love to spend time together! We really enjoy playing with our two dogs, Josie and Jackson, and taking them on long walks in the evening, which gives us an opportunity to “catch up” on our daily activities.

We also treasure taking trips together and seeing parts of the world that are new to us. In fact, we recently had a great time on a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where we lounged on the beach, shopped, rode ATV’s along the coast, and went on a whale watching excursion.

We also enjoy get-togethers with friends, low-key evenings at home watching movies and going out.

Tim is a huge Red Sox fan…and Stephanie is learning to deal with it! He dreams of one day taking his child to see Fenway Park in Boston. He also enjoys playing sports, exercising, and vacationing.

Stephanie, in her free time, enjoys ballroom dance at an area studio. She loves the social aspect of ballroom dance as well as the workout it provides. She also enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and shopping with the girls.
