Our Religious Beliefs
We share a strong Christian faith and feel it is the foundation of our marriage. We read and study the Bible and strive to live by what it teaches. We are active members of a fairly large church of Christ with approximately 600 members. We attend services on Sunday and Wednesday. We feel blessed to be part of such a loving group and treasure many special friends. We try to serve and help others in a number of ways. Marcia has taught the toddler class and Sam has gone on yearly mission trips to Panama. Sam is also involved in other foreign mission works including Mexico and Nicaragua. We have many Christian friends from several different countries. We participate in local food drives and projects to help the needy in the community. We try to surround ourselves with people of strong moral character. We share cookouts, church meals, and Sunday lunches with other friends from church.
Adoption in Our Immediate Family
We have three special children who have been adopted into our immediate family. Sam's brother, Tim, and his wife, Tammie, adopted Rebecca, Noah, and Naomi. Each child was adopted individually and has become a special part of our family. Sam's parents take special pride in them along with their other grandchildren. Our other nieces and nephews love them so much! Adoption is opening up your heart and your home to a child and loving and nurturing the child. All of our hearts have been touched and we have all grown closer with the addition of these three special children. We especially enjoy spending time with them and watching them grow up so quickly. Rebecca is "little mama" to the smaller children. Noah is always full of energy and life. Naomi is curious and independent. Our families are very supportive of our adoption plans. We are very eager to open our hearts and our home to your child through adoption.
Fun Games, Events and Hobbies We Look Forward to Sharing with a Child
Feed Time
There is always something going on, on the farm, or with our families. On the farm, there is feeding the cattle, taking care of a baby calf, or cutting hay. In the fall, we go to hayrides and cookouts. In the winter, there is sledding and possibly snow skiing. Spring brings gardening, flower planting, and hikes in the woods. Summer means vacation, swimming, and cooling your feet in the creek. The cousins are always having sleepovers, ballgames, concerts, and birthday parties. Quiet times around home include scrapbooking and playing with our dog, Arnold. The holidays bring Easter egg hunts, Fourth of July fireworks, and Halloween costumes. Thanksgiving is a time for turkey cooking with Mom and Christmas is a time for family, friends, and giving.
