Walk into our home at any given time and you will find love, laughs and lots of energy. You will see anything from games being played to dancing and clapping while watching American Idol to gentle hugs while reading books cuddled up together. You will also hear an occasional bark or meow from one of our furry family members. We want you to know how adoption made us a family, our dream of loving a second child and how being parents is our top priority. All we can do is write to you from our hearts and hope that by reading our letter and profile, you will get a good sense of who we are and consider us as a potential family for your precious child.

What We Will Tell Your Child About Their Adoption
Our son is adopted from China. We have no information on his birth family, which saddens us. We talk openly about how he came to join our family and the difficult, selfless decision his birthmother had to make because she was unable to care for him.
Not a day goes by that we don't think about Parker's birthmother - he is such a happy and loving little boy and we wish we could send her pictures and letters so she knows how much we love him. At every major holiday or family event, we release a red balloon in honor of Parker's birthmother. If there is something specific we wish to share from our hearts, we put a note in the balloon before we inflate it and then release the balloon with our heartfelt thoughts. If you should choose us as a family for your child, we hope you will allow us to update you through photos and letters. We would also welcome the opportunity to share with your child pictures and personal letters directly from you. You are such an important part of your child's life and we promise to always talk about you in a positive, respectful way. We will tell your child how much you love them, what a difficult decision you were faced with and how that decision was made through love.
How We Embrace the Multiple Cultures in Our Family
We knew our family would be formed through adoption, and our desire was to embrace children whose heritage might be different then ours. We have a large world map on our wall and have pins in it representing family members who come from or live in other areas of the globe. We celebrate our unique backgrounds and believe that family is not limited to those who share the same genes or physical traits. We are proud of our blended family.
Our traditions combine those from Kimberly's American, Sebastian's European and Parker's Chinese culture. Our holidays are busy as we welcome family and friends from Europe who can't wait to experience an American Thanksgiving. At Christmas, we open half the presents on Christmas Eve following Sebastian's family tradition and then the balance of gifts are opened Christmas morning in the tradition of Kimberly's family. We have fun making cookies on Christmas Eve and leave them out for Santa on a special holiday plate made by Kimberly's grandmother. We celebrate Chinese New Years by steaming homemade Chinese Dumplings and handing out red envelopes with crisp dollar bills to all the children we know, just like in China. We also celebrate the Harvest Moon Festival with our Chinese friends while eating Moon Cakes. We look forward to adding more celebrations with another child. We would love to hear about your family traditions so we can share them with your child.
How We Like to Vacation
Vacation at Disneyland
We are fortunate to have free flight benefits through Sebastian's position with the airlines. That opens up so many opportunities for vacation destinations. We enjoy international travel and experience far away places while visiting family in Germany, Holland, Cypress and more. We like to wake up on a Saturday morning and make a spur of the moment decision to fly to California for the day so we can build sand castles on the beach and play in the ocean waves. We enjoy weekend trips to the snow, the Grand Canyon, Disneyland as well as visiting states or popular locations we have never seen. We also love cruises and their beautiful destinations. We went on two cruises before we became parents and just recently took Parker on his first cruise to the Mexican Riviera - it was so much fun. We can't wait for our second child to be old enough for a special Disney cruise…we are huge Mickey Mouse fans!
