What We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other
Like so many other couples, we wanted children soon after we married. After a few years of trying on our own, we were unable to conceive even with the services of a fertility clinic.
We did first consider a domestic adoption, but at that time, the process was filled with complications. As such, we turned our efforts to adopting internationally. This wasn't a difficult decision for us as we are seasoned travelers and Bob has a professional background in global business development.
We so thoroughly enjoyed the international adoption process that soon after bringing our first wonderful daughter home from China, we wanted to adopt again. This second time, we selected Guatemala because we wanted a culturally-diverse family. Well, two terrific daughters weren't enough. We then went back to Guatemala for our third daughter; having made so many friends and memories there. It wasn't long after we returned home with our latest cutie, though, that we received an urgent request from one of our adoption agencies to adopt a little Chinese boy. We opened the e-mail and immediately fell in love with the little guy. Within minutes, we were on the phone with the agency, beginning our 4th adoption.
Two years later, we are eager to adopt again. This time, however, we want to experience a domestic adoption. We are excited to add to our multicultural and diverse family. We look forward to this new chapter in our life.
What We Do for Fun as a Family
Family at the Playground
We love to go on picnics at parks and playgrounds; usually taking a bucket of chicken or deli sandwiches. For some weird reason, we've developed a fondness for eating tangerines at the beach - in between sand-castle making and chasing waves. We play croquette in the front yard and splash around in our inflatable pool in the back yard. Our children get a kick out of munching on popcorn while watching a "younger kids" movie at the local movie theater (shown every Saturday morning). Lisa will find good deals on "overnighter" local sights and we'll pack up the car for a road trip. We usually try to do four of those kinds of trips a year plus one or two week-long vacations. We believe such excursions help open their little eyes and imaginations to a whole world of possibilities and adventures. Of course, with four children, there's always time left in the day for a lot of tickling and play wrestling, but it's balanced with family reading and story-telling time before bed.
