Qualities We Love and Respect in Each Other

Written by Jay: What I love about Amy is her drive to help others. She is such a caring person that she will go without to make others happy. Her devotion to teaching and her career is inspiring. Her students are very lucky to have her as their teacher. I respect Amy for her strengths, beliefs and values. She is the nicest and most understanding person I know. I love her devotion to life itself and others.

Written by Amy: What I love about Jay is his personality. He is so care free and fun loving. Like a big teddy bear! Jay will drop anything to help people. I respect his work ethic and drive to want to learn more. His love for children is amazing. Kids are instantly attracted to him and want to be around him. I couldn't think of a better person to be a father. He is my best friend and my soul mate.

How Adoption Has Affected Us Personally

Adoption has affected us personally because Jay is adopted. As a newborn, Jay was dropped off at an orphanage. There was no medical history, no birth date and he never had a chance to know anything about his birth parents. Even though he has a wonderful relationship with his parents and wouldn't change anything, he wishes that he did have this information. His brother and sister were also adopted but had information about their birth parents. Jay's parents were always very open with all of them about their adoptions. Their feelings about adoption have inspired us to become adoptive parents! Being adopted, Jay feels like this would be a strong bond to build a foundation for our family.

What We Like to Do in Our Free Time

Hanging Out with Our Dogs Kramer and Chloe

We like to spend most of our free time together and with our two dogs Kramer and Chloe. On weekends we will get up and make breakfast together. Sometimes we will go to garage sales, go for a bike ride or take our dogs on a walk. We have a beautiful historic area near our home that we like to visit. There we will have a nice lunch outside and walk around to different shops. We also like to spend time with our family and friends. We get together and have barbecues and play games. This also gives us a chance to hang out with our niece and nephews. Our favorite thing to do is to go camping. We have a wonderful camp site that we go to that has a wonderful environment for kids. They have a ton of playgrounds and activities. Kramer and Chloe also enjoy camping and meeting other dogs.
