Our six year old daughter Dominique can't wait to be a big sister. She is a very nurturing child and has big plans for her new baby brother or sister. She has very carefully gone through her toys and set aside the ones that she is going to teach the baby to play with. She wants to buy diapers to practice with on her baby dolls, even though that we have told her that diaper changing is mommy and daddy's job. She doesn't believe us so she said that she will just have to have Grandma help her learn! She makes lists of things that we will need to buy for the baby, and can't wait to be a part of the preparation.

Dominique is so much fun. One of her favorite activities is to play dress up. We are often amused when she will walk up to us in our house wearing feet pajamas, a pink bucket on her head, a jump rope tied around her waist and a scarf. That costume represents "Adventure Man"! Other times a princess costume, crown, ballet slippers and a wand represent "the most beautiful of all." We have been provided with hours of entertainment. Who needs the movies when you have your very own show at home? Of course we have taken plenty of pictures to bring out when she is a teenager!

Being parents has been the greatest joy of our lives. Our main goal as parents is to provide a happy, safe and nurturing environment in which a child can grow. While there are many lessons a child needs to learn we feel that the most important are to have faith in oneself, to be honest, and to treat others with kindness. If we can successfully teach these lessons our child will grow up with high self esteem, a good moral compass and great friends.

We believe that a child should feel loved beyond measure. A child should know that no matter what difficulties life may bring that he or she will always have our unceasing love and support. We learned this from our own parents, and hope that with good parenting, the feeling of being loved and supported will continue in our family for generations to come. As adoptive parents we look forward to loving your child and helping them to grow into a happy adult.

A Walk on the Beach

Our family loves to spend time together doing things we all enjoy. Because we live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, we have access to mountains, rivers, lakes, and beaches within a short drive from our home. As a family we enjoy hiking, camping and sightseeing. We love to spend time in the national parks going on hikes through the forest. The beautiful lakes in our area are always fun to visit. Every year around Christmastime we go on a boat cruise around Lake Union. The boats are all decorated and the city looks so beautiful at night that kids of all ages love being on the ship sharing their Christmas spirit.

We enjoy traveling and go on a trip at least once a year. We love Disneyland and have been there several times. We love it so much that we went four different times last year and we don't even live in California! We are pretty silly together so it is the perfect place for us! When we want to stay closer to home, we enjoy going to the zoo and the aquarium. Our daughter plays soccer and Bill coaches her team while Leya cheers everyone on. We love to hang out in the backyard playing games together and barbequing on beautiful summer days. On rainy days, we enjoy staying inside, watching movies, playing board games and having an occasional video game tournament. We are very lucky that we share common interests and have so much fun together.
