Fours years ago we adopted our sweet little Karlee. We always thought adoption was a wonderful thing but we didn't know how just how wonderful it is until we experienced it. It was one of the most joyous times in our lives but also one of the most sorrowful too. We finally had our prayers answered to become parents but at the same time our hearts hurt for our daughter's birth mom.

When we decided to adopt we knew that a couple didn't have to create a baby to love it. We bonded so quickly and fell in love the minute we saw her. We were able to be at the hospital to meet her birth mom before delivery. We spent a lot of time with her and took pictures. Even though we know she must have been going through so many emotions of her own, she seemed so happy as she kept reassuring us. We were amazed by her love for Karlee and feel so lucky that we are able to share that with her.

Kevin: He would help anyone anytime. He gets along with everyone! Kevin has put my wants and needs above his own numerous times. He moved away from his family so that I could be close to mine. When he decided to propose to me he drove 6 hours round trip to ask my dad for my hand in marriage. Kevin is a terrific daddy! When playing with Karlee he is a kid himself. He is a very hard worker and provides for his family.

Kim: She is loving and trustworthy. She repeatedly does for others and never puts herself first. Her family is the most important thing to her, she is a wonderful Mommy. During our first adoption we were matched and the birth mom changed her mind before delivery. We were very upset but understood. Kim wrote a letter to the birth mom saying this and sent a gift for the baby. She is a very strong woman and finds the positive in life.

Our Family

We have one child, Karlee, adopted at birth. She is now four years old and is the most precious thing in our lives. She is the most beautiful little girl. Everyday she amazes us! She has quite the sense of humor and is so smart. She will be attending preschool this year at the Catholic School where Kim attended. She's been in many activities such as t-ball, dance, and gymnastics. One of her favorite things is reading in bed at night.

Karlee is so excited about having a sibling. She knows that her brother/sister will be adopted too. She will have a sibling to share being adopted with and they will be able to understand what the other one may be feeling. She is always playing mommy to her babies and will be a great big sister.
