Genia and Keith on the Beach
After a year and a half wait in March 2005, we finally received the call that we had been waiting on. We had been matched with a 2 1/2 year old blonde hair, brown eyed girl. The agency sent us a video of her the next day and our hearts just melted. She was precious and she was smiling and singing songs in Russian. Keith made several copies of the video and went around town showing it to everyone and yes I mean everyone. Keith told people "the minute I saw her I knew she was my little girl". We got to spend 4 hours with her on our first trip in April and then we had to leave her there for a month until we could return to adopt her. Amy never cried so hard in her life when she had to leave Genia. Our daughter Genia Claire was adopted from Russia in May 2005. From the very moment that this tiny little girl walked in the room, we have been completely in love with her. We could never imagine how instant our bond became. Adoption has blessed our lives beyond our most wonderful dreams and made us the family that we had always dreamed of. Genia is aware that she is adopted. We are very open and honest with her. She is proud to be adopted and proud to be from Russia.
Our family, friends, and church members have always been extremely supportive of our adoption decisions. One way that our loved ones showed their support, was on the night that we arrived home from Russia with our daughter. (It brings us to tears just thinking of what happened.) The moment that we turned onto our road, we see our driveway and it is lined with little flickering lights. As we pull into our driveway, we see that it is our church family lined shoulder to shoulder down both sides of the driveway. They are all holding white candles and they are singing "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white. They are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world." A priceless moment and one that we will cherish forever. We are so fortunate to have the support system of our family, friends, and church family.
Amy Playing at Chuck E Cheese
Keith enjoys going fishing, metal detecting, arrow head hunting, and going to nascar races, football games and hockey games. Amy enjoys going shopping, singing karaoke, going to movies, and reading. Genia loves taking dance class, cheerleading, playing dress up, and she is a complete water dog during the summer. As a family, we love to go roller skating, bowling, and swimming. We love to go to the park on Sunday afternoons and have a picnic and take walks in the park and play in the stream. Most Friday nights we enjoy a movie night or game night. Some of our favorite games to play as a family are Uno Attack, Yahtzee, and Candyland. We love being outdoors and experiencing new things.

Our Dog Rusty
Our pets are a very important part of our lives. They are like little fuzzy members of our family. Rusty is our 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier. He is a very smart, sweet, and loving dog. He loves to curl up with us on the couch and watch TV. If you mention the work "walk", he runs straight for where we keep his leash and prances around ready to go. He is always up for exercise. Lily is our 13 year old long haired white cat. She loves to be brushed and loved on. We always get Rusty & Lily Christmas presents to put under the tree. Rusty can somehow always tell which present is his. Last year, he opened his present a week after Thanksgiving. He didn't touch any other presents but his brand new stuff unicorn.
