Emily and Family Finding Their Way Out of a Corn Maze
We look forward to all kinds of things to share with your child. It is really hard to name everything we look forward to doing. However some of the things that come to mind are teaching your child how to pass a football, baseball, how to kick a soccer ball and most importantly just enjoy our time playing together. Our house is the main hub for board games. Whenever our friends, family and nephews come over the first place they run to is the game closet. During the summer we enjoy going to the neighborhood pool and swimming. We also enjoy sitting at our fire pit making smores, eating homemade ice cream and going to the drive-in movies. Our community has a "Big Rig Day" where there are all kinds of tractors, police vehicles, fire trucks, cement trucks, dump trucks, helicopters and more for little kids to go and experience what it is like to be inside one. In the fall, raking leaves and jumping in the piles is something we enjoyed as kids and will continue to enjoy with your child. We also have a corn maze right down the street, where all kinds of friends and families gather to read clues in order to find their way through. We always have a blast! In the winter we like to go sledding, drink hot chocolate and watch movies by the warm and cozy fireplace. Overall the most important things we look forward to experiencing with this child are the small everyday things. We can't wait to help them with their homework, drive them from one activity to the next, read to them at night and tuck them into bed with prayers. We can personally guarantee that your child will have a stable and exciting life filled with unconditional love, hugs, kisses, laughter and happiness!
A Christmas Eve Tradition - Dress Up, Go Out to Dinner and Attend Church
We have several family traditions that have been passed on to us from each of our families. One of our fondest family traditions is decorating the family Christmas tree together while eating "Joe's Pizza." Each year we take turns putting the angel on top of the Christmas tree. Another tradition we have is on the fourth of July. We have a huge family cook out. Then when the sun goes down we set off a massive display of fireworks in the backyard. Usually the whole neighborhood gets involved. Birthdays are a big deal in our family. When someone's birthday comes around we always claim that month as the person's "birthday month". Usually we grant that person the right to choose where we go out to eat or what we have for dinner for the whole month. These are only some of the traditions that we have with our extended families. We look forward to someday making our own family traditions with your child in order to make their life as memorable as ours have been.
Just Hanging Out
Looking back, what led us to choose adoption for our family is very easy to answer. However, the process to getting there was rather difficult. We have always known we are meant to be parents. We have talked about it ever since we were married. We had many attempts with fertility treatments and during the whole process we knew and felt in our hearts that adoption was meant to be our way of building a family. Often times Emily refers to it as Bright Neon Lights blinking the words "Adoption is an option!" Finally the message set in. We decided that to become parents we were going to adopt. Once this decision was made, excitement and a feeling of "we can't wait" came about. |
