Thank you for considering an adoption plan and for reading about us. We are both lucky enough to have loving, stable, supportive parents and are able to provide the same to a child. There is nothing in life more special than a child's happiness. Our goal is to raise confident, smart, successful, and above all, happy children. Becoming parents has been a wonderful experience for us and we would love to become parents again. We adore kids and nothing makes us happier than the time we spend together as a family.

How Adoption Has Affected Us Personally

In April of 2007, we adopted our little girl, Chloe. We got the call in the middle of the night and were on the first flight to meet her. Holding our daughter for the first time was a humbling experience that brought us to tears. What we didn't expect was to be able to bond with her birthmother as well. We were able to meet her and her family and spend time together in the hospital. Choosing a family to adopt her child was probably the most difficult decision she's ever had to make. I think meeting us in person made it easier for her. She was able to see in person that we were genuine and that we truly loved her baby. We were able to express to her how amazing we felt she was for giving up so much to give this child a better life. Meeting her gave us a greater understanding of what she was going through. We thanked her so much for choosing us to be Chloe's parents and for making our dreams come true. To our surprise, she thanked us for adopting and loving her baby. We will share this story with Chloe so that she knows how much her birthmother loved her. We want her to know how special she is because she was chosen with love.

We Are Both Very Passionate About Helping Others

As a physician, Mark has the responsibility and privilege to go to work each day and make a difference in people's lives. He can make people feel better and bring a smile to the face of children with chronic illness. Helping children is the most rewarding part of his job. Sometimes children do not like to go the doctor but he feels that if he can create an atmosphere of warmth, caring and most of all fun, it can be a great experience for everyone. He treats each patient as an individual with individual problems and feels that they deserve to feel special and cared for. Mark is very passionate about being the best father he can be. He is a great role model and a loving daddy.

Jill's passion is being the best mommy she can be. She stays at home with our daughter so that she can teach her and encourage her. She takes her to music classes and on various field trips such as feeding farm animals, riding ponies, and the children's museum. Jill is also passionate about volunteering in the community. She is the president on the board for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. C.A.S.A. is an organization of volunteers who advocate for children in state custody who need their voices heard. She has worked hard to raise money for The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center which provides research and education in our community. She also helped build a house for Habitat for Humanity.

We both feel very fortunate that we have the time and resources that enable us to contribute to making our community a better place. Together, we also love helping with the children's ministry at church. Teaching children about God's work is an amazing opportunity.

What We Like to Do for Fun

Vacation in France

We have similar interests and enjoy activities we can do together. We both love the outdoors. In the summer we like to swim and just hangout by the pool. We also enjoy boating and waterskiing at the lake with friends. In the spring and fall we go hiking at any one of the local parks or camping near the mountains. In the winter we like to go snow skiing. We also enjoy quiet evenings at home cooking dinner together and watching movies in our home theater. When we aren't together you can usually find Mark on the golf course with friends and Jill shopping with a girlfriend or practicing her photography.

Our favorite activity is traveling. Sometimes we go places to relax like the Caribbean or Maine. Other times we go to places full of history and adventure like Paris of the French countryside. We also take several weekend trips to nearby cities where we visit the zoo, amusement parks, go to a baseball game, or the aquarium. We can't wait to revisit some of these places with Chloe and her new brother or sister and experience life through their eyes.
