Our Leisure Time

Bike/Walking Path Near Our Home
We love the outdoors. Bill likes camping, hiking, riding his bike and home improvement projects. He also has a talent for oil painting. One of our favorite paintings hangs above our fireplace - a painting from our trip to Kauai. Beth enjoys sports of all kinds, working in the yard and home improvement projects. She has put a lot of time into the wildflower garden in our yard. As a couple, we have worked incredibly hard to landscape our home and build the brick patio that we enjoy so much. Although we often have a project in the works, we also make time to relax and enjoy family and friends. Going to Cardinal baseball games and attending concerts and plays with friends are among some of the things we make time to do. We like having family over to play board games, watch movies and barbecue. We often have a continual game of "Risk" going. We share an interest, rather a passion, for music - jazz, classical, rock, pop and alternative. Our church plays a big role in our lives as well. We attend a Christian church on Sunday mornings. Bill helps with the lawn care while Beth assists with the "Dayspring Ministry" -witnessing to those that are mentally ill. We have a wonderful group of church friends that fully understand and support our decision to adopt.

Our Daugher, Erin

Movie Night
We were so happy and blessed to have had Erin in January of 2006. We really had no idea just how much fun and love a child could bring into our lives until Erin was born. Erin loves to "read" and be read to. She attends a Christian preschool two half days a week during the school year. She really likes her teachers and classmates. Techi-tots, a computer class for young children, is another activity that Erin is a part of. This summer she will take swimming and skating classes with mom and dad at the YMCA. We keep her busy, but not overly committed. Leisure time is especially important, so we make sure she has plenty of time to play and just be herself. Your little one will have all of these opportunities too. We look forward to seeing what activities your child will be interested in - sports, music, art. Erin will have a lot of fun teaching her brother/sister to read, bake brownies and throw a ball. We can just picture her "reading" and singing to your baby. Having another little one to interact with Erin will be a dream come true. She has always been interested in babies and loves the idea of having a brother or sister. "Will the baby play with me?" "Can I hug the baby?" We cannot wait to be a family of four. The love and laughter that Erin gives to us is amazing. A brother or sister would obviously double that fun.

Our Vacations

Vacation in Oahu, Hawaii
We love to travel. As a couple, we have been numerous places - Hawaii, California, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee and Branson, Missouri to name a few. Beth's family owns a condo in Branson where Beth and Bill spend long weekends at least twice a year. We like going to movies, shopping, eating out and swimming at the condo pool. We enjoy each other's company, whether we are on vacation together or just hanging out at home sipping wine and talking. We fondly recall the time we went to Estes Park, Colorado. We stayed at a "couple's only" resort. Each couple had their own private cabin with hot tub, fireplace and bay window overlooking the mountains. It was the quietest, most relaxing vacation we had ever been on. The gigantic elk looking in the window while Beth napped didn't even put a damper on the trip (once Beth's screams subsided). We had such a good time - we went back the following year.
