What We Do For Fun

On Our Sailboat

We love all the seasons and generally can be found either running, hiking, skiing or sailing. We own a sailboat and during the summer we sail on the Hudson River and Long Island Sound. In New York Harbor we get to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the beautiful City skyline. In the winter we head for the mountains of Vermont, Utah, or Colorado. Kelley was a high school ski coach for over 3 years and is a former racer herself. Bill started skiing after high school and still has trouble keeping up with Kelley! In the warmer months, Bill is able to show his speed when he competes in triathlons and marathons. Now the tables have turned and Kelley can't keep up with him! In addition to the many sports they each play, Kelley is passionate about photography and enjoys catching Bill on camera every chance she gets. She is looking forward to taking lots of pictures of a new baby.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

The Lake House

Our favorite vacation spot is hands down, the island family lake house in New Hampshire (which we call camp). Kelley's family has been going to camp for about 20 years and her aunts, uncles and cousins live nearby. At camp we are able to unwind, enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature as well as watch summer storms pass by across the lake. We go sailing, swimming, hiking, waterskiing, tubing and fishing. In addition to these activities, we compete in two of our favorite island games - Bags and Frisbee Golf. Our Frisbee Golf course even has a water hole! There are about 40 houses on the island and many young kids and dogs run free and call this place home during the summer. After a day spent relaxing or diving for coins off the dock, we all sit and watch the sunset and laugh about our day. Once the sun goes down, we typically head to the dining room table for a few games of scrabble or try to finish that puzzle that seems like it will never end! When everyone hits the sack and the lights are out, we listen to the waves hitting the shore and before we know it, we are dreaming about the next day. We are so excited to share this special place with a child.

Fun Games, Events and Hobbies We Look Forward to Sharing With a Child

First, we must say that we are looking forward to spending time doing almost any activity that makes our child happy. Basically, we know that if the child is happy then so are we!!! But seriously, we plan to introduce our child to as many things as possible.

We are looking forward to reading to our children every night before bed and making sure their sheets are tucked in tight so they feel safe and secure. In our leisure time, we would spend weekends and a couple of weeks each summer at Kelley's family lake house in New Hampshire. We would also teach them to play soccer, baseball, tennis, basketball, sailing, and skiing or karate (if that's what they wanted to explore). Bill, among other things, was in the high school chorus and Kelley played the flute in the high school band so we would encourage the child to try musical instruments or sing away in the bathtub! We would also take trips to Florida to visit Bill's parents and go fishing. The child would learn how to make the family homemade ravioli. This recipe goes back multiple generations on Kelley's side of the family and the recipe has never left the family vault! We look forward to spending time with a child to include them in this time honored tradition.
