Hi we're Chris and Jennifer! Being blessed with a child and starting a family through adoption is something we are hopeful for and so excited about! We often talked about adopting "someday" even before we knew we would not be able to have a biological child. If you should choose us to raise your child, please know he/she will be loved unconditionally and raised in a caring, fun home. Most importantly, your child will grow up knowing about their adoption and your tremendous love for them.

Chris Driving His Model T in a Parade
Chris is an awesome cook and enjoys cooking thankfully! He has a knack for making up his own recipes- one of Jen's favorites are his steaks and his potatoes with cream cheese, sour cream and bacon bits sauce he made up one day. He loves anything involving mud and a vehicle- he has an old truck he uses specifically for "mudding"! Deer hunting in November with his family is a favorite he always looks forward to. He also belongs to a group called "The Fire-tiques" - a group his father had helped to start and belonged to until he passed away. Chris decided to join after his passing to help keep his memory alive. It's a group of about 10 guys-most friends of his dad- who upkeep and restore old antique fire trucks (his dad was a firefighter for 50+ years ). He also is restoring an old 1923 Model T that his father owned. They drive these vehicles in parades and to events- they are always a hit with the kids!
Mexican Sunrise - A Favorite Photo of Ours that Jen Took
Jennifer loves photography and almost always has a camera in hand at any activity or get together. She has literally thousands of pictures she has taken through the years. Her favorites are nature photos of mountains, the ocean, or flowers close-up. She loves getting a good photo and enlarging it to hang in the house as decoration. Photography is another passion she picked up from her mother in addition to Nursing. BBQ's and camping with their large group of close friends and their children is always fun . We always are amazed at the "herd" of children running around when we all get together- they get along great and we love them all. Jen also likes jogging on the town's riverfront trail- beautiful 3 miles of trail running next to the river. She and her dad try to run together at least one evening a week and she often hits the trail for walking with Chris and the dogs.
Our Furbabies - Ajax & Star
We have so much love for our furry babies! They keep us company and keep us entertained! We have 2 indoor dogs- "Ajax" is a white Boxer, and "Star" is an Italian greyhound. When they aren't playing they are claiming the couch. They are both well-behaved and are great with kids. We have two indoor cats- Diesel and Lilly. Diesel loves to "talk" to you and Lilly is just good at being the princess of the house- so she thinks. Then there's Mr. Toes, our outdoor cat. He loves to lick people's toes for some odd reason hence the name. He always makes people laugh when they wear sandals or take their shoes off and he heads straight for the toes and they see how true he is to his name! Last but not least are our nine miniature goats that keep our pasture grazed and looking like a mini golf course! They are by far a favorite of family ,friends and even the neighbors. It's funny how we will be somewhere- with family, running into friends or even with co workers and they will ask "how are the goats?"
Our Goats - Waiting Patiently for Treats
We will embrace a child of a different race and know it will be important to keep your child's culture a part of them. We want to be creative in thinking of ways to make culture fun while educational for a child. Several ideas we have are making special meals together or going to an authentic restaurant of the child's culture, learning the language with the child as they grow up, celebrating holidays of a child's heritage, and going to events or festivals. These are just a few we have thought of- we will continue to think of different ideas and choose things your child expresses interest in. Everyone's culture is who they are and is important. |
