Enjoying the View in Kauai

Since we started dating we have enjoyed traveling together and with family to different locations. Trips to Florida, Colorado and Iowa gave us the chance to visit family and experience their surroundings. Our love for tropical settings has taken us on Carribean Cruises and to Hawaii.

Of all these places, Hawaii is the one place we can't go to often enough. We love the people, atmosphere, natural beauty and of course the temperature. We enjoy talking to residents and going to shows and events that share the history of the islands and its people. To date we have been to Maui and Kauai, but hope to visit the other islands soon.

Goofing Around in Maui

Even though there is always something new and exciting to discover on the islands, one of our favorite activities is the bike ride down Mt. Haleakala. The day is started with a spectacular view of the sunrise from the crater rim before we hop on bikes for the ride down to the beach. Maui has one of our favorite areas to shop with local vendors selling handmade items. It's always hard to decide what items will return home with us.

No matter how much fun we have in Maui, Kauai will always be a special place for us since that is where we were married. We are drawn to Kauai's luscious gardens, waterfalls, Waimea Canyon and the islands laid back atmosphere. Our favorite views of Kauai are from a helicopter, which gives a close up view of areas that cannot be accessed by car or horseback.

Picking Apples

We have many traditions we want your child to be part of, such as our annual trip to the apple orchard with family and friends. Everyone enjoys the hayride out to the orchard where we pick apples. Once our bags are full, we head back to the barn for cider and donuts. The kids have fun climbing huge haystacks, making crafts, riding bikes and visiting the petting zoo.

And She's Off!

We still celebrate holiday traditions from when we were kids, including coloring Easter eggs and filling baskets with chocolates and jelly beans. At Halloween we love seeing all the kids in their costumes and can't wait to have a child to dress up ourselves. We try to grow pumpkins for carving. Some years we get lucky and have a couple nice ones, other years we end up at the local pumpkin patch.

Thanksgiving is Brian's holiday. He takes over the kitchen cooking a huge meal and delicious desserts for our families. No one goes home hungry, that's for sure! The next day he starts putting up Christmas decorations outside, adding something new each year. A few weeks later, we go searching for the perfect tree to cut and decorate. Once the tree and the rest of the house is decorated, we relax eating cookies by the tree while listening to our favorite holiday music.
