1000 Islands What a Beautiful Place
To say that adoption touched our lives would be an understatement. In December 2006 we adopted our daughter Nicoletta. Holding Nicoletta for the first time was a very humbling, emotional experience. We were able to bond with the birth mother a little before the birth which was an awesome experience both of us, as well as, the birth mother. We thanked her for making our dreams come true, and choosing us to be Nicoletta's parents. We will forever be grateful to her. We will share this story with Nicoletta so she understands how much her birthmother loves her. We want her to know how special she is because she was chosen with love.
Racing is one of John's Favorite Hobbies
In our leisure time we spend a lot of time relaxing at home by the pool. It is a great family gathering place. John enjoys working on cars and race cars in his shop. He can always find something to tinker with in there. We enjoy going to local dirt track races in the summer. We also enjoy boating and camping. Kelly enjoys keeping after the flower beds and the plants around the house. She also enjoys playing volleyball. Our church holds activities outside of the church monthly, such as, snow tubing, pool parties, roller skating, going to a local amusement park, softball games and much more. Those activities are always exciting and fun filled. In the winter, we enjoy snowmobiling. We look forward to sharing in everything we do with the children.
Nikki Enjoys the Water Slides
We have several family traditions. Christmas time is probably our favorite time of the year. Every Christmas Eve we have dinner with Kelly's family and then go to our church candlelight service at 11:00 p.m. That is one of our favorite services throughout the year. Before bed we put cookies and milk out for Santa along with a thank you card created by Nicoletta. We spend Christmas morning at home opening what Santa left behind. Then we spend Christmas Day with John's family and just enjoy the family time together with the kids. Around Christmas, the children typically put on a play for the church congregation; this is usually very entertaining to say the least. In the summer months we have picnics at our home for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Everyone likes to swim and we play all sorts of games, we are a very competitive family when it
comes to games. We spend every holiday together. Kelly's aunt Joanne owns a restaurant so we typically have our extended family gatherings (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents) for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter at the restaurant. It is a perfect gathering place and makes clean up a lot easier.
