We both desire to have more children and through adoption we hope to love and cherish another child. We want your child to know that they were loved twice as much because their birth parents love them and so do we. We will share with your child how thankful we are that you made such a self-less and courageous choice. We will provide every opportunity
possible to enrich and educate your child. We both believe that parenting is the most important job in the world, and we promise to provide a stable, secure and supportive home, which will be built upon our unconditional love.

| How Adoption Has Affected Our Lives |
We both love children and desire a large family. Adoption has been one of the greatest blessings we have received, and we are so excited to add to our family by your generous gift to us.
In 2008 we were blessed with the adoption of our son, James Anthony. We cannot begin to tell you how much joy he has brought not only to our lives but also to the lives of our family and friends. Adoption has truly been the answer to our prayers and allowed us to become a family. We love sharing in his daily discoveries - from learning how to use a new toy or learning how to crawl, walk or climb up and down the stairs.
Some of our close friends are families who have also adopted children. We know that our children will be able to go to one another for love and support and to discuss what they have in common whenever they want to.
We Love Spending Time Together
We both come from families that are rich in family traditions. Kevin's family, for instance, has a bonfire the day after Thanksgiving and roasts marshmallows to make s'mores. They also used to open presents from each other on Christmas Eve, then go to Midnight Mass, and then wake up on Christmas morning to see what presents Santa left. Michelle's family spent every Easter morning hunting for our Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny hid around the house and then dressed up in our new dresses and suits and went to mass. She also keenly remembers celebrating her grandmother's birthday every summer by getting all the aunts, uncles and cousins together on her uncle's farm to have a bar-be-que and play family games of volleyball and badminton.
Since adopting our son, we plan on starting a family tradition to celebrate the finalization of his adoption every year with telling him how he came into our family and how his birthmother and we love him very much. We also plan to celebrate with games, food and activities that celebrate his ethnic and cultural background.
We both value our family traditions and look forward to creating many new ones that include your child. We plan to have nightly family dinners, yearly summer vacations, nightly bedtime stories and kisses, and Sunday brunches. We look forward to hanging stockings over the fireplace waiting for Santa, setting up our nativity scene, and decorating for Christmas. We also want to color Easter eggs and have an egg hunt with all the nieces and nephews. And, we look forward to dressing up and trick-or-treating at Halloween.
Overlooking the Rhine River in Germany
Between the two of us, we never have a dull moment. We have a number of hobbies and activities we enjoy. On any given weekend, you can find us out hiking, swimming or biking or playing sports such as Frisbee golf, football, basketball, softball, or golf. We also enjoy going out on some of the nearby lakes and rivers where Kevin fishes and Michelle soaks in some sun.
Both of us love to cook and host parties. One of the first things we bought when we moved into our house was a large outdoor grill so we could host cookouts. Kevin's bar-b-que ribs are now famous among our friends and family.
James at the Beach
We also enjoy traveling and exploring new places. We recently took a trip to Germany and Italy. We had a great time trying new food and seeing the sites, and a particular highlight was meeting the Pope in St. Peter's Square. Closer to home, we live in a historical and cultural area, which we try to take advantage of as frequently as possible by going on some of the local guided tours, to the local festivals and museums and plays.
In the summertime, you can find us at the beach as often as possible, building sand castles and riding waves. And, in winter, as soon as it snows, we're outdoors sledding and having snowball fights followed by evenings sitting by the fire, sipping hot chocolate and watching movies. |
