Building Sandcastles on the English Channel
Leisure time? What leisure time? We've got these kids ... ha ha! Truly, we understand that in this season of our lives we'll build the best family if our hobbies involve each other. So we enjoy our time traveling to fun amusement parks, helping out together at a food pantry, or playing family games on Sunday nights. We want to build the kinds of memories that will be a reward and refuge for our kids to look back on when they're out on their own making their own choices. Saturday soccer, "Man time with Dad," dates with Mom and family bike rides keep us all moving in the same direction, laughing all the way. To get away on our own, Jeremy jogs and rides his bike and Kristiann makes home videos and photo albums to perfection. As a couple we facilitate "Financial Peace University" to help couples learn how to live in control of their money rather than letting their money control them.
Learning to Ice Skate
Traditions start with every day activities that our kids can count on and will always remember as they look back on their lives. We always do dinner and talk together as a family, church on Sundays with brunch afterwards at a place of the kids' choosing, family game night Sunday evening, "man lessons with Dad" once a month, regular dates with Mom, and family fun activities at least one Saturday a month. Christmas is a special time for family and food and activities together - Christmas tree decorating, frosting and baking cookies, reading the Christmas story. At Thanksgiving everyone gets two kernels of corn to share what they are thankful for that year and remind us of how blessed we are.
Davis and Mitchell
Davis (6) and Mitchell (3) are the two wonderful boys God has given us. They are a delight to have around - each with their own special personality. Davis is bright, inquisitive, caring, and thoughtful. He looks out for his little brother and can't wait to have another brother/sister so he can "show them the ropes" and be helpful to mom and dad. Mitchell is fun-loving, bold, happy, and a cuddler. He loves to wake up in the morning, grab his hot chocolate, and cuddle in to mom or dad's lap. He's looking forward to a little bro or sis that he can love on and play with. |
