How We Met

Sixteen years ago we met through a mutual friend. Phil was active with the volunteer fire company and Vicki was active on the local rescue squad. We began our life as best friends and enjoying the volunteer emergency services together. We had a lot in common and decided to further our relationship. To this day, we are still involved with the emergency services in our town and have been happily married for the past 11 years.

Phil is very involved with the local fire company in our town. He has been a volunteer firefighter for 18 years and has served many years in the positions of Chief, Asst. Chief, 1st and 2nd Lieutenants. He won the "Fireman of the Year" in 2007, which was voted on by his fellow firemen for all of his outstanding dedication and efforts to the company. Phil was extremely honored to receive this award. He has put in many hours of training which include fire fighting training, vehicle extrication and is currently attending classes to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). His pride in helping his community is acknowledged by all of his family and friends.

Vicki has served on the local rescue squad for 16 years. She worked her way up from Cadet status to Crew Chief of her duty crew. She also volunteered all her time to the community. She was dedicated to saving lives and helping those in need. She went through various emergency medical courses to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). She also helped out in many fund-raisers in the town. She is currently an exempt member of the rescue squad and does not run calls anymore ever since Brianna was born.

Our daughter enjoys spending time with both of us at the firehouse and rescue squad buildings. She has grown up with the understanding of how important it is to help others in need. She loves to be able to learn about fire safety and helping people. She enjoys going for rides on the fire trucks with her daddy. Her favorite experience is visiting the firehouse when the emergency helicopter arrives for a drill. Our wishes are that she finds satisfaction in helping others in need like we do and follows in our foot steps with volunteering her time to others when she is older.

From Brianna

Letter from Brianna:

Hi, my name is Brianna and I am five years old. I can't wait to be a big sister. I saved all my baby toys for my new brother or sister. I have everything.

I know how to be a big sister because I have been practicing on my little cousin who is two years old. I let her play with all my things. I show her how to swing and I play baby dolls with her. We have so much fun. I have a really nice play ground in my back yard or we can go to the park. I have big cousins that play with me too.

My Nanny and Poppy have a house at the shore and we can go there anytime we want to. We all have bicycles there and can go to the beach, go miniature golfing, go to the amusement park, the water park or just stay home and play.

When we go to my Grandma's and Pop Pop's house, I have a lot of cousins that come there too. We play on water slides and have loads of fun. My grandma is the best cook in the whole wide world.

My mommy and daddy took me to Disney last year. We had a great time and will go again when my new brother or sister gets older. We go camping and fishing. This summer we went to a really big lake with my nanny, poppy, aunt, uncle, and cousins and we went boat riding and fishing. I caught the most fish every time we fished. I have my own fishing pole and tackle box. We will get the new baby one, too.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Vacation in the Caribbean
Our favorite vacation spot is the Caribbean Islands. We celebrated our honeymoon in St. Lucia and our five-year-anniversary on a cruise which brought us to several islands such as Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Martinique, Barbados, and Aruba. We enjoy the island of Aruba the best. The beautiful beaches, cool trade winds, consistent hot weather, and tropical water are just a few of the very appealing characteristics of this island. We enjoy snorkeling, fishing, shopping, dining, and talking to the friendly people. We plan to share our pleasurable experiences of these islands with our children. Each year we plan a family vacation that is children oriented and loads of fun for the entire family.
