Tom, Amy, and Sydney at a Family Wedding
We love spending time with our dog Sydney. Every evening, we take Sydney on a walk together and catch up on each other's day. We also enjoy taking her to a dog park that is close to our home. She is able to run off of her leash and play with other dogs while we enjoy the beautiful nature walks.

We are passionate about travel and have made it a priority in our lives. We love to discover new places together and to just get away from the daily grind when we can. In the last few years, we have traveled to both coasts, the Southwest, Washington D.C., Jamaica, and Europe. We are looking forward to many adventures as a family in the future, whether it is going to Disney World, or enjoying the beach. We believe that seeing the world is an integral part of a child's education and we will encourage your child to travel both for enjoyment and to better appreciate culture and history.
We also appreciate the time we are able to spend with family and friends. We have an amazing set of friends who are so much fun, but who are also an important support network. Almost all of our friends now have children and we feel truly blessed to have watched them grow over these last years. Our friends are very supportive of our decision to adopt and we look forward to all of the playdates that this child will have with their children.
We both enjoy reading in our spare time. We love reading both fiction and nonfiction---Amy is even in a book club. Amy likes cooking, baking, and playing the piano. She finds these hobbies to be excellent ways of relieving stress! Tom loves playing golf. It is a great way for him to catch up with friends and family and enjoy time outdoors.
| Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other |
Tom on a Desert Hike
Amy:
Tom has so many amazing qualities that I love, admire, and respect, they are difficult to single out. I love his sense of humor. Tom makes me laugh every day, no matter how I'm feeling and keeps me from taking myself too seriously. I admire his patience. I respect the ease at which he connects with other people---he loves getting to know people from all walks of life. Tom is so good with children, and I know that these qualities will make him a terrific father.

Tom:
Amy is the love of my life, and my best friend. She is truly beautiful -- in body and mind. I love the way she makes me feel. I admire the way she shows compassion but stays true to herself. And I respect the way she balances fun and responsibility. These qualities will help make Amy the perfect mother and guide your child through the challenges and joys of life. I can not wait to start this new adventure with the best of all tour guides -- Amy.

Education is very important to us. Both of us benefited from a wonderful public education and we have purposefully moved to a home that is in a first-rate school district. We know that a solid education will present this child with options in life, which is a gift. We hope to nurture your child's love of learning, as we are both lifelong learners. Because we value a strong education, we plan on being very active when the child begins school. We look forward to building a relationship with the child's teachers and providing the support necessary for the child to be the best student he or she can be. We also intend to save now for the child's future so that they may have the benefit of a college education.
We also think a strong education consists of experiences outside of school. We hope to expose your child to sports, art, and music from a young age. We strongly believe that these extra-curricular activities will enhance the child's formal education by fostering creativity and building social skills. We also plan to teach your child the importance of charity and volunteerism. We hope to find volunteer opportunities that we can participate in as a family. Such activities impress upon children how blessed they are, and teach them how to give back to their community.
Finally, we believe our faith will provide a strong moral backing to this child's education. Your child will understand that his or her faith is a powerful asset that will help morally guide them through both the joy and pain in life.
In sum, we will strive to give your child the educational foundation necessary for them to follow and achieve their dreams, whatever those dreams may be.
