Charles and Lisa

We are both very strong and determined individuals. We have both weathered storms in our lives which makes us the compassionate and loving individuals that we are today. Charles grew up watching the Uncles whom he loved very much, all die of coronary heart disease. It became his mission in life to figure out not only why this was happening but to find a cure for the disease. This is what led him to become a Medical Scientist. He is so passionate about his work and loves what he does for a living. Aside from his job, Charles is now in the midst of writing a textbook and doing speaking engagements on "Relationship Development" in the medical field.

Lisa began her career as a Life Coach for women after realizing that she would always serve as a sounding board for her girlfriends in need of a compassionate ear. She has since formed a nationwide organization for women which is geared towards empowering them and lifting them up both emotionally and financially. Lisa's mom encouraged her to take up acting in high school and she has gone on to win several awards and placed third in the nation in an acting tournament. She has since incorporated her acting ability in her work and now produces a daily video broadcast as she coaches women to seek their dreams and realize their goals. She has gone on to do her own television show and now talks to women all over the country via Webcam.

We have both been through Hurricane Katrina and have since relocated from New Orleans. We lost everything, including the most sacred things (our wedding video and pictures that held our memories). This great tragedy taught us to not take anything for granted and that material things are just that. We hold on to our faith and know that we can get through anything together. We both know that life is to be celebrated and struggles make us stronger.

On Vacation in Miami

Our lifestyle is pretty remarkable. We would describe our lifestyle as fun, entertaining and we are always into something. We laugh a lot and we both have a love for life and the experiences life brings. We love enjoying the company of our friends at our home, going to the movies, eating at great restaurants, visiting different parks, and anything outdoors; while we are also good snuggling on our couch while watching a good movie. We consider ourselves to be foodies because we enjoy trying new restaurants and Charles loves to duplicate the dishes we've tried at restaurants. It's amazing how he can copy any dish. It must be the Scientist in him. We both love the art of cooking, which is why we made sure to include a fabulous kitchen in our home.

We also get great pleasure out of playing with our two puppies, Versace and Polo. They are two little balls of white fluff and are so sweet. On a typical weekend we would usually let the day take shape on its own. We love riding our mopeds, swimming in our pool while cooking out and going to the park with the puppies. Sometimes we charter a boat and go fishing and other times we may take off to New Orleans and enjoy our get away home. Nightfall always comes way too early for us to squeeze everything in so we're always looking forward to the next day.

We can't wait to share our world with your little one. We always talk about teaching her how to cook and bake and taste different foods with us. We want to show her the world and include her in all that we do as a family. Our friends and family can't wait to meet her. Charles always pictures himself playing outside and gardening with her while Lisa is excited to take her to parks, restaurants and teach her all of life's great teachings.

Enjoying Our Time Together

Charles loves to garden in his spare time. He has a green thumb and loves growing fresh herbs and vegetables in our herb garden that he created. He enjoys being outside listening to music while our puppies run around and play. He tends to be Mr. Fix it around the house which is actually fun for him. He is a ball of energy.

Lisa loves antique shopping. She calls it her antique therapy and gets so excited when she finds a deal. She can walk in antique stores for hours looking for that perfect item. Her last great find was a beautiful rocking horse for our little princess to enjoy when she gets big enough. She has a great doll collection and loves to collect real life baby dolls. Lisa is a girly girl and loves her spa days and going to the nail salon. She can't wait to share these outings with our child.

We are both involved with various church groups and we participate in many fund raisers; in fact, it was at a recent Heart Association Ball were we won a little child's Mercedes car and knew that we would have use for it one day. We are both active in several young adult ministries and we love speaking to kids about the importance of school and education. We can't wait and would be honored to share this life with your little one.
