Jed & Tania

Today is a special day ... we finally get to reach out and talk with you, the birthparents! We are Jed & Tania and we are so very thrilled to have the chance to tell you a little bit about ourselves. To start - we're not fancy people. We love the simple surprises life brings and we can't wait to explore each new day with a child. We were both raised in happy, loving families and together we'll provide the same kind of life for this child - a safe, comfortable home with endless love and encouragement. We know that the decision you're considering is a difficult one, and we want you to know that we will support you and your child in any way that we can. Learning more about you is something we really hope for, and we can't wait to hear about the kind of life you'd like for this wonderful little child, too.

Cultural Diversity in Our Lives

Tania Meets Our Newest Niece, Amelia, with Our Brother-in-Law and Our Nephew!
We consider ourselves so fortunate that our family is already diverse! Our brother-in-law Kerry is African American and our niece and nephew are beautiful little biracial babies whom our entire family absolutely adores. We love that this child will be able to feel a cultural connection and ethnic ties within our own family, in addition to the many other cultural experiences we will expose him or her to. We will be sure that your child has the opportunity to interact with families and children of different races on a regular basis. We feel very comfortable about talking with your child concerning any cultural issues or questions they may have, and we believe it's very important to provide this child with continuous reinforcement about the beauty of his or her own cultural identity. We both traveled a bit growing up, and those experiences gave us an incredible amount of respect for people of all walks of life, as well as a better understanding of the unique challenges that everyone faces each day. The friendships we made on those travels continue today - and those friendships are something we hope to give to this child as well. We're looking forward to traveling together as a family and introducing your child to people of all different races and cultures - an experience we feel is invaluable.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Our for a Hike Near Our House
Our favorite vacation spot is a big, quiet, gorgeous campground surrounded by lush forest at a beautiful lake. We've stayed there many times and have been looking forward to the day when we can take our children camping there with us! The campground has several wonderful play areas for children and a cute beach on the lake. We make friends with our "camp neighbors" every time we stay, and have found it's a great spot to meet new people from all different areas. The nearby town has a great little main street along the water with lots of fun shops and one of our favorite hoagie stops! We always bring our boat out to the campground and love spending afternoons (and sometimes evenings after a yummy dinner!) zooming around the lake, looking for fun new spots to dock up and explore, and enjoying the sunshine!

Our Leisure Time

We're both very active people who are excited about life and the opportunities it provides us with! Much of our free time now is spent doing outdoor activities like riding 4wheelers, biking, having campfires, hiking, and relaxing in our backyard, but we also love reading as well, and we can't wait to introduce this child to the many adventures that await both in books and outside. Growing up, Jed played soccer and ran track and Tania was on several swim teams and competed in karate, so we're looking forward to cheering this child on in whatever sports they choose to play. In the wintertime, we spend a lot of nights bundled up in front of the fireplace playing cards and board games with family and friends, and we're anxious to have a little one bundled up next to us! We enjoy visiting and vacationing with our families and getting in lots of good play time with all of our nieces and nephews - this child will have a ton of older cousins to learn from! We also both volunteer in our community. Tania has volunteered with the local arts council for several years and Jed is a volunteer firefighter. We're so very excited to share our love of life and our sweet families with this little one, and we absolutely can't wait to see what new adventures he or she will introduce us to!
