Taking a Break from the Hiking Trail

We love to relax together at our summer house. We spend lazy days fishing, boating and laying in the hammock. Our dogs love to swim in the river and chase our boat as it glides through the water. We watch movies, play card games and go for long walks. We have canoes and kayaks and almost always have company. It is a peaceful spot and many of our friends and family like to hang out with us here.

Enjoying the Fall Weather

Alyssa enjoys jogging and gardening and we all like to eat the raspberries as soon as they are ripe for picking (dogs included!). Patrick is usually working on a do-it-yourself project around the house or tinkering in his workshop.

We all love to cook. Our son Finn has his own pot and stirs up race cars, miniature books and his sippy cup while we tend to what's cooking on the stove. We enjoy having friends over to dinner and barbecues on the weekends.

Our Family

In 2008, our son Finn was brought into our lives through adoption. He has brought more joy to us and our extended families than we ever thought possible. We continue to share letters and pictures with our son's birthmother and are so grateful to her everyday for the amazing gift she has given us.

We have reached out and become great friends with other families who have adopted. It is a wonderful bond we share, and that our kids share as well.

We could never have imagined how fulfilled our daily lives are with a child. So much so, we cannot wait to share our lives with another child. Finn is excited to be the big brother and has plans to teach your child everything about fire trucks, tractors and snack time!

We've made adoption a well used word in our home. We'll continue to share Finn's adoption story and your baby's story with them as they grow in ways they can grasp and understand.

We would be very open from the start. We believe honesty is the best policy. Life is an amazing gift. Sharing that gift with a family like ours is amazing. We would make sure your child knows how much we appreciate your strength and how thankful we are that you had the courage to place your child with us.

We will share bedtime stories about how exciting it was to prepare for his or her birth, the first time we got to hold them in our arms and the joy of getting to know their birthparents. We'll create a special scrapbook highlighting those events and more throughout your child's life. We'd love to share as much information about you and your family as you are comfortable with. As your child grows, please know that we will always focus on the positive...that your love for your child guided you to help build our family.

We will always be honest and tell him or her how special they are - to us and you; that you chose to place your child with a family like ours that could offer the same hope, promise and love every parent wants for their child.

Ice Skating

Family takes a priority in our life. We've always wanted to have a family, as long as each of us can remember. We grew up experiencing life surrounded by brothers and sisters and couldn't wait to make the same kind of memories with our own children.

We make time for our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews whenever possible. We vacation together because it's fun to catch up with everyone and relax together. The cousins love to play with each other and teach the little ones new games and tricks.

When Finn was brought into our lives, Alyssa couldn't wait to be a stay-at-home mom. There is so much fun to be had living, learning and playing together every day. Patrick rearranged his work schedule once Finn arrived so that he could spend not only quality time, but also as much quantity time as possible. It is a win-win situation and we enjoy every day together.
