 We have been blessed with two beautiful children, but they didn't come easily. We love our children more than anything but feel we still have more love to share with another child. At this point in our lives, we are wanting to adopt in order to give a child the same loving environment that our children have and to make our family complete.  |

We've been blessed with the opportunity to raise two incredible children, Jake and Samantha. They are full of the sweetness/kindness of their mother, and the goofiness of their father. One minute they'll be fighting over a toy, the next they're holding hands as Jake helps Sam downstairs to the playroom. They love being outside and are going 100% from the time they wake up until they go to bed. They do love to color and read which slows them down some and we love to share this experience with them. Their teachers consistently comment on how sweet they are and how funny they can be. Our house was definitely not a home until they arrived and while the structure will never be the same (can you say crayola's and glue) we wouldn't change a thing
In a word, active. We are not a family that does well with sitting inside on a warm spring day. If there's daylight, we're out playing in it. We love to take family hikes, spend time at the cabin/lake, play outside in the yard, go on walks with the dogs, go on bike rides, and visit local nature centers and parks. We have always been active and we instill that into our children. Our professional backgrounds are in physical well being and we practice what we preach. In the winter, we find things to do like sledding, snow shoeing, building snowmen, and snowboarding.
We love the beach and we love the mountains in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. There is no one spot that we prefer and we try to go somewhere different each year. Our main focus with vacation is to spend time with the family in a relaxing environment. We love being out and enjoying nature and God's creation. We've been to Seattle, WA, Savannah, GA, Denver, CO, Vail, CO, Bend, OR, Hilton Head, SC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Banff (Canadian Rockies), as well as other car trips. We are outdoor people, so as long as we have that, it doesn't matter where we are. Mike has even managed to teach Kelly to snowboard and he plans on doing the same for the kids.
When we watch our children at play, at dinner, or just sleeping in their rooms, it pains us to think that there are children in the world that are in need. We want to be able to take a child who may not have these opportunities or experiences and allow them to have the life our kids have and that we had as children. We also realize that children need more than just love to grow into great adults. If love was all it took, there would be far fewer children up for adoption. We understand that some families aren't ready for children and want the best for the children they have or are having. They don't love the child any less, in fact we see it as they love the child even more deeply. These families are willing to give a part of themselves away to complete strangers to ensure that the child is given everything they need in life. Is there a more selfless act than that? We don't think so.
