We are an extremely active family. We love most outdoor activities. Our favorites include waterskiing, boating, camping, snow skiing, and golf. Whitney likes to compete in marathons and triathlons so she spends most mornings before work running, biking, and swimming. Whitney spent some time last year training with her nephew Jakob and he completed his first triathlon with a 7th place finish. K.C. loves to play golf. He also enjoys gardening and yardwork and occasionally accompanies Whitney on a weekend bike ride. We like to try new sports too. We have played tennis, racquetball, and bowling. We have also been river rafting and ziplining. We are excited to include a little person into our life and show them how fun life can be.
We have always wanted to have children. Being parents is something we have dreamed about for a really long time. It seems like we have so much to offer a child or children. We are very active in many sports and activities so we're looking forward to supporting this child in all of their activities. We love to travel the world and can't wait to experience new places with this little one. We expect that our family time will be great for making long lasting memories. Relaxing on the couch watching movies, playing games, and catching up on our daily activities will be special. We are anxious to experience all of the "firsts" like the first smile, the first words, and the first steps. God is important in our lives and it is important to us that the child know a church home as well. We plan to include church activities as often as possible.
We met about 14 years ago at the hospital where we both worked. Whitney had just graduated from nursing school and K.C. was the charge nurse on the unit. K.C. asked Whitney out on a date for the July 4th weekend ... his family was having a get-together at his house for water skiing, jet skiing and a barbecue cookout. We hit it off right away, started dating, and got engaged on the Fourth of July the very next year. K.C. proposed to Whitney in the middle of the lake, in his boat, under the fireworks. It was SO romantic! We just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary this past April.
